Rising Stars: Meet Fresko

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fresko.

Hi Fresko, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For as long as I can remember, music has always been my true passion. There isn’t a single day in my house that there isn’t music playing. Whether it’s Disco, Salsa, Reggaetón, Hip hop and of course house music. My father has truly been a big inspiration to me as he would teach and make me play the “Cajon” which is a traditional Peruvian hand drum and other instruments like the saxophone. My mother has also been a big influence on me as she has always taught me music from all over the world as she loves to dance and groove to different beats and sounds. After high school, I decided to take a chance and pursue my dream of becoming a Dj/Producer. It was difficult to choose what kind of music to really focus on as I love every single genre I grew up listening to. That is when I found and fell in love with house music. The way house music really blends all cultures and sounds, I knew it was my true passion to peruse as I could mix and sample sounds that I grew up listening too. Although I am still a young and aspiring dj/producer, I hope to become a top DJ showing the world my craft.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely has been a lot of struggles. A big one is the right mindset. There are days where mentally and creatively, you aren’t are you’re best. I try and pick those days to take time off making music and use my time either marketing, creating art or downloading new music for Dj Gigs.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Peruvian-American Producer/DJ from Miami, Florida. Better known as Fresko. I mainly play the sub-genres of House music such as Tech House and Latin House. What I am most proud of is finally releasing my first song out on SoundCloud. It is a collaboration with another talented producer “Leo Gennaro”. It is our take on the Biggie Smalls classic “Big Poppa.”

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Perseverance, Responsibility and Sacrifice. You have to be willing to give up a lot of time in order to be constantly creating and working.
