Rising Stars: Meet Fabian Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabian Jackson.

Fabian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the time of 1999, I resided in Miami Gardens. I started a phenomenon career in the Education Industry, where I had the awesome opportunity to recruit potential students for higher education. I then was recognized to open a department that was not at our location. That area for our Admissions Department was the International Recruitment. This allowed me to speak to potential students while in their respective country as well as those who were interested in transferring to our school. In order to assist a student as such, I had on going training in regards to the Student Visa and the law behind it order to issue their F-1 Status. As time went on I got married and started a family, having me to make a decision to leave that career.

Being a mother and understanding one of my goals, I decided to remain home for two years after giving birth to my first born. Which landed me to be involved in the Financial Industry (a fancy name for an Insurance Agent), which is a large industry and I love it. I have been licensed since 2007 and continually assisting families, small business and individuals. When I started this career it was at the tipping of the market crashing, housing market crashing and a lot of disparity. Due to keeping my faith as my primary, family secondary and career as tertiary, it gave me the drive to stick with this and a lot of flexibility towards my schedule. In order to stay within a career, you have to be willing to accept the “no’s” and inconsistency of the person or group of people you may meet. One must not take it personal unless there is a clear personal response. The other powerful way to stay within this career is to be tied to a powerful Agency and or FMO/IMO (Field Marketing Organization/Independent Market Operator). That means the company is willing and is truly able to assist you for growth, increase your knowledge and commission. I also do a lot of Community Service from New York, Tulsa, OK, Miami, FL; Norfolk, VA and of course Jacksonville, FL.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Staying within this field has not been all smooth. My personal life has had a heavy effect on how well I did and did not do within my field. Keep in mind I started this career in 2007. I was literally clueless about what it all entails, but I also was fearless. The bumpy roads ahead were the; market people fear of losing everything. The irony behind this reflection I was one of those families who lost all material gain. At that time we had three properties and three vehicles, a boat and a family-a daughter and another one on the way along with a huge aquarium and my dog. That hit took a heavy toll on my health. Through it, I had to be strong, focused, driven and creative. With all of that on my plate I turned to a different industry but it was still sales all the long maintaining my Insurance License. Some days I felt as though there was not a great agency out there for me to grow with, which had me continue working for someone else. I had a lot of family issues that were not great and my first Manager in Insurance reached out to me and invited me to work with this new company located in Pensacola, but I would work in his Saint John’s Office. I accepted and have been in North Florida ever since. I must add I am with a different agency that has all the bells, whistles and more for anyone who would ever want to enter and stay in this career. This company makes it smoother for a newbie or a seasoned Financial Professional.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an Independent Financial Profession. Obtaining this license has allowed me the freedom, the flexibility and the no bosses to dictate; however, there is structure. I have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life- due to what I have helps everyone who can get it. It is as simple as that. I am not limited to assist people in one region of the state, but the ENTIRE state of Florida. I am now also licensed in Texas. This allows me to sit with a business owner and present to his team or staff the products of Life Insurance, Index Product an or an Annuity. Often time, people get confused with what this product can do for you a person if they get injured and do not pass away. It can do a lot for you when you sit with someone like myself and guide you to make a more informed, powerful decision not only for you but also for your loved ones. I am most proud that I have the chance to correct what a lot of agents in my field do wrong, that is not informing those they sit with that they have choices, there is NOT a one size fits all financial solution. Each person’s situation is uniquely different and this way, I help more because they have been educated on choices based on their personal situation. This alone sets me apart from many agents because I have more to offer for my client’s particular case. If the person is familiar with one of the carriers I have access to and would love to stay within their care, I can offer it. Working with the agency I am currently not only allows me more choices for my clients, but I can help anyone nation wide to join my team and do the same by helping others make a difference in their life, having fun and making a living.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is when I have educated my client or potential client about what I do and have them repeat it back to me in clarity and when I have been able to change their situation for the better.
