Today we’d like to introduce you to Author Danielle Ferguson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Greetings, my name is Author Danielle Ferguson. I grew up in a small area in Miami named Homestead. I am a product of teenage parents. At the age of five, my dad’s ‘Danyell Ferguson’ football career took a turn and effected me and my little sisters. After being left with our mothers and grandmothers to raise, as I got older, I decided that I would want to take the steps towards breaking generational curses. In 2012, my paternal grandmother passed away from lung cancer that I had not found out about until a year before she was told she couldn’t live any longer. 2013 I was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis.
In 2015 I lost three people back to back over a 3-month span and while also discovering that my paternal uncle and aunts had taken me for my entire inheritance except 20,000. It was all revealed to me through a missing headstone. In 2016 I was able to graduate Florida A&M University through it all. Unfortunately, I was not able to pursue further opportunity within my major. With that being said, God has given me the vision and tools to make a living for myself other than normal 9-5 job. All in all, I found my initial purpose in life, which is to encourage others to NEVER GIVE UP. I wrote a memoir, started a print and design company, publishing company, and just recently an online professional woman boutique.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Very difficult. I have gone through chemotherapy and currently on dialysis waiting for a kidney transplant.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Logo designs, business cards, flyers, etc…. all things business related.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Becoming Michelle Obama… I love reading autobiography and memoir.
