Zuri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well I got where I am today due to a lack of Black Women in this field. I was patronizing an Ethnic group that did not look like me and was not meeting my needs. Instead, they were depleting my beauty rather than Enhancing it. My passion and drive came out of frustration, resulting in a wake-up call that I needed to pursue my natural born talents, which I was licensed for but placed on the back burner for years. Once I realized that I was what I was searching for in Aesthetics, I began perfecting it on myself, my family/friends and then decided to leap into working for myself. It was the best decision I could have made because I love it and today, I am mastering it and able to now share my talents and help women that look like me all over the world, enhance see their natural beauty as well!!
Has it been a smooth road?
Actually, once I decided to walk into my purpose, yes it was. Smooth road with a few small obstacles. Starting off with no funds, sacrificing years of working underpaid and doing many many many clients for free. Also, working with minimal equipment and supplies in the beginning. Working very long hours and handling all business affairs by myself with no help. But, today, I am very thankful for every obstacle because it helped shape and ready me for success!

My name on all Social media platforms and that everyone knows me by is Zuri Eyebrows but I do more. I am a licensed Aesthetician (Esthetician) and Master Eyebrow Designing Artist, specializing in African skincare Products, My personalized Ombre Microshading Technique, Facials, Body Waxing, Celebrity Eyebrow Waxing and Tinting Designing. I am well known for all of these services and particularly Eyebrow Waxing and Zuri Microshading Designs. I am most proud of all the services I offer to my community, as these were all introduced by me nine years ago when I started and No one else was offering it. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I do Not cater to the general public. I am a private personal specialist dealing with a consistent professional clientele base. I am the Maserati dealership in my Field and of The Eyebrow World! 🤗😍😁
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Honestly, here is where I started out and I am doing fine, so yes, it is a good place to start out, but it has its downside. What our city can do to improve is to patronize more people that look like them. I OFFER My CLASSES and I am teaching my technique for all of the women who would like to learn this field so clients can get these services from people who look like them and understand their skin types and appreciate their patronage.
