Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoey Brinxx.
Zoey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been singing in church since a little girl, in 3rd grade, I made a rap for the Fcat and then proceeded to join the gospel choir in high school. I’m signed to a label called 3MG. Super producer Bigg d introduced me to the owner of the label at a performance and ever since the label & I, Timothy has been working ever since.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve been on a weight loss journey because my stamina on stage had to improve, constantly battling with people telling me I need to rap sexier, people comparing me to other female artists. People not believing in me because I’m not considered sexy to me.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I’m an artist. I rap and sing. I’m known for my hit single humble me, I’m known for versatility and my deep voice and last but not least my red and blue hair! Besides the music I currently running a boutique. The merchandise includes shirts, anklets, mink lashes, and phone cases.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being consistent is key, and being different I never want to get comfortable with being normal.
