Meet Zainab Hageldain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zainab Hageldain.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Dating back to about five years ago, I began to take steps to further my love for music and turn it into a job. I began doing music with a team by the name of Radio Royalty and eventually became one of their artists. The team and I dropped my first single ever in 2015 by the name of “All I Want” on Soundcloud, and surprisingly the single reached a large audience and really hit in Atlanta. Almost five months after dropping All I Want, a Grammy award-winning producer based in Atlanta reached out to my team and wanted to create music together. This moment was basically the jump start of my music career and really launched my love for being an artist. Aside from my music career, I was also very much into photography and Instagram, as well as being photographed in different creative outfits, and with this love for photos and content, I started getting brands to reach out to me and want to collaborate. In 2018, I officially became an “Instagram influencer” and I began modeling and advertising brands on my account. Aside from music and brand collaborations, I did all of this still while achieving education and being a full-time undergrad student.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an influencer I can say was an easy road because it basically was just a matter of me evolving a hobby into a job sort of. Although, I can definitely say my music journey was not a smooth road whatsoever. I struggled a lot with time due to the fact that when I began I was in high school and it was hard trying to balance my senior year with the music career, also I wasn’t in full control of my music, so many songs I created along the way were never able to be released or dropped in a timely manner and now, they are just sitting in my vault. Yet, every challenge I endured came with a lesson and it molded me into who I am today.

Do you feel luck has played a role in your life?
I am really not a big believer in luck, just because I think luck is like a one-time thing. I personally believe that all the good things which have occurred in my life are just a matter of blessings and putting in enough work at the right time, and I’ll say all the bad which has occurred really happen because it was not my time or my moment to do whatever it is that didn’t work out.
