Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Camejo-Argudin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vanessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m from Matanzas, Cuba. When I was 15 years old, I moved to Miami with my mother and my grandmother. My first job was working at a modeling agency when I was 16 years old called International Models. At age 20, I had my first daughter Victoria while attending college, so I had to stop. When my daughter was five years old, I graduated from the University of North Carolina with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting. It was really hard to study, work and be a mother all at once, but being a daughter of an immigrant single mother, it was very important for me to show my daughter that anything was possible and that not because I was a young single mother, I couldn’t chase my dreams and/or be successful.
While working at The Cardenas Law Group with attorney Gladys A Cardenas, Esq (RIP) as her accountant, I decided to open Remote Bookkeeping Corp in September 2015, seeing the need that small businesses had of having an accountant do the bookkeeping at an affordable price. I started working from my two-bedroom apartment, on a desk I had in my living room. Little by little, I would get more recommendations and clients. February 17th , 2017, was my last day as an employee and the first day of working full time on my goals and dreams. My first big client was Gladys A. Cardenas, Esq (RIP).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been easy. It’s been hard. Lots of sleepless nights and very long days of work. Nothing has come easy.
Just when I decided to work full time on Remote Bookkeeping, I had my second daughter Valentina with 37 weeks. Having a newborn, a ten-year-old and a small business being the only employee of the company at the time was one of the hardest times of my life. My daughters needed me, but my clients had trusted me and I couldn’t fail them. It was all or nothing.

Remote Bookkeeping Corp is a Bookkeeping Firm that specializes in remote bookkeeping for small to large size companies at an affordable price.
Bookkeeping was usually done by a bookkeeper on each business location, which can be very expensive if you hire an experienced bookkeeper, reason why most small businesses don’t have accounting records or use an accountant because they believe, is so expensive that they won’t be able to afford it. We offer our clients the experience and the knowledge that we have for over ten years, doing their bookkeeping, organizing their accounting, supervising an in-house bookkeeper, or taking over the bookkeeping at an amazing affordable price. Most accountants don’t like to do bookkeeping, but my husband and I love it! We offer the same quality and reliability of a big firm, with the small firm family feeling and customer service.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing!!! It was hard but I am very graceful. During this journey, I met my husband and had two kids (Valentina and Jose) and now we are a family of five. My husband is also an accountant and together we have been able to build a strong family and a reliable business.
