Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Simon.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The day I realized I could combine my love for travel and craft beer, it was all over. My thirst for both was insatiable. I took my first “beercation” in 2013 to Vermont where my eyes were opened to an amazing community revolved around a mutual love for great beer. From Burlington to Brussels, I began to take more and more trips focused on visiting breweries. I shared all of my experiences on my Instagram page and as the craft beer industry grew so did my desire to explore it. Each city offered its own flavor. I wanted to not only taste the beers but also get a real taste for the cities and the cultures behind them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest obstacle I encountered, in the beginning, was being taken seriously in a heavily male-dominated industry. I had my fair share of sexist comments and impersonator accounts. My advice to any woman getting started is to relentlessly pursue your passion, the speed bumps allow the end result to always feel so much sweeter.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I live in a constant state of fearless driven creativity.
Having my original concepts being repurposed by other content creators is the ultimate sign of respect. No entertainment/art is ever finished, it is continually refined.
In order to keep growing individuality, there is nobody more important than your audience. I have an amazing group of supporters that allow me to feel natural when pushing boundaries.
