Meet Trailblazer Fedra Prado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fedra Prado.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m an English teacher from Argentina and have been in Miami for the past four years. I love coffee, communicating with others and traveling so decided to turn my passion into something more and became a travel writer. I like showing different cultures while promoting a positive body image and empowering other women. I’m sharing my travel experiences through blogging and social media and have been able to work as Brand Ambassador and Model for several brands.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road and it’s been more of trial and error til getting to the point where I’m comfortable with myself and my work. The best advice for other women is to believe in yourself and to not give up. Some things take time, just stay disciplined through the struggle and the blessings. Do your best, stay positive, work on your craft and never stop learning.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a travel writer, and brand ambassador/model for brands like Karma Bikinis and Comfort Enoz, who are not only transforming fashion but also have a social mission statement. I like to be creative through pictures and blogging to inspire others and build confidence. I’m most proud about staying natural and that women can relate to me because it’s not a competition but rather about real women empowering each other.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’m a true believer that you should network with like-minded individuals and creatives and build your tribe where you’re comfortable and safe. Constructive criticism is always part of the process of growing professionally and personally and you should surround yourself with people you trust. Trying new and different activities has worked well for me in getting involved with the community and meeting more people.
