Meet Trailblazer Alexis Nicole Entner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Nicole Entner.

Alexis Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was an art school drop out, I maneuvered around the city looking to be an assistant in art, fashion, retail. I ended up working for a couple who owned “Kore Boutique” a womenswear boutique with four stores as a stylist, visual, and social media coordinator for over three years. I built a huge relationship with many powerful, influential women in Miami who would come into the store and shop. From news reporters to agents, housewives, sports, and financial women, I was their go-to girl for any look needed, while building “@uhhhlexisnicole.” Taking selfies, recreating looks from runway, casual reality cameos on tv networks. I knew there was always something more. I initially always had a tomboy persona and passion to be in menswear.

Following Kore, I transitioned into working in a streetwear lifestyle boutique where I quickly picked up the game, dipping my feet into something I knew existed but never had access to, it was there I met the person I was looking for. An OG menswear stylist who had been in the game for almost 10 years. It was like God put me in all the right places at all different times. I built an extremely close bond to her and she sort of just swooped me under her wing. Going to see current clients, old clients, mixing in luxury with streetwear I was really getting in the mix of where I had always been wanting to be.

During the “come up,” I struggled with many hardships. I was born and raised in Miami but I grew up in the Midwest, Iowa to be exact.

Has it been a smooth road?
Within the year (2017), I lost my grandfather (my mothers father) in April, I lost my other grandfather (my fathers father) in August, days before my 27th bday, in October, while I was in New York, my father had a heart attack, I flew there to the midwest and later, he would pass as well. I took sometime back home to fully feel what I needed to, and yet while Im still very confused knew the only way to express this was through art and fashion. I came back to Miami, with a new perspective and lighter heart for many things including my work ethic, slow down and love hard. And even in this past September, my uncle (my mother’s brother) passed suddenly. This had affected my whole work ethic, it’s defined who I’m becoming as a woman, and what it means to literally lose it all and still fight every day for the dream to be an artist.

Fitting in is way overrated. I spent a good portion of my life being myself & at the same to try to fit in… it’s easier to just be yourself. If you are surrounding yourself with the right people, they will not only get it. They will appreciate it. I can smell authenticity a mile away, trust your gut, it’s your guardian angel.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a full-time Personal Assistant, where I specialize in Menswear and Womenswear luxury and vintage styling working alongside Urban, Latin artists (music), expressing interests in beauty and contemporary art direction and interior design.

I am an “influencer” (this word is so weird to me and gets thrown loosely in this era but it is what it is, ahhhh!!) People recognize me for my unique style, presence, and energy.

Because of my hardships and obstacles, I believe in a spiritual sense of having or representing Angel Energy (which is also my initials). Being the energy you want to receive and allowing the message to come through, it is beautiful for me thats a lifestyle. Portraying that in my work is another blessing.

My unapologetic style and look is definitely what sets me apart from others. It’s very distinct and recognizable.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Always be you. Brand that, and push it. Stay authentic to who you are. No matter if down the road, you hit a block and you’re “still trying to figure it out.” We’re all figuring it out too.
