So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been a licensed hairstylist for over 20 years. Originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina and migrated to Jacksonville, Florida in 2003 for a better business opportunity. Ever since I have blossomed into the Master Stylist that I am today! Healthy hair is my passion. I am a multi-cultural stylist that have training as an educator through several product lines along my journey.
I always attend trade show and private classes to continue my education and to stay updated on the latest trendy styles. I have been to co-host of many fashion shows conducted by my daughter who is also in the industry. I like to say I have a natural passion for the haircare industry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Straight out of cosmetology school, I have always been a salon owner. I have years of experience, and no it had not always been easy. I am a risk-taker and not afraid to dive in and give it a chance. My customers always support my decisions alongside my family with each venture I make.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bold n Classy Hair – what should we know?
I specialize in healthy hair but am known for my shortcuts. My slogan is Healthy Hair is my Forte. Always a salon finish. My brand always gives back to the community especially the kids. My heart still melts from a few years ago we gave away 50 free hair services for back to school to help the community prepare kids for back to school. This event was back in 2012. Our local news stations came out and did a live news segment in this day, which inspired other small businesses to participate on this special day. This was one of my biggest and most heartfelt moments in my career. I will never forget this day. What sets our brand apart is just the many of kind acts we have done with and for our clients. Good deeds always pay off in the long run. During the pandemic, our clients have been so supportive by donating to our business to show love in return.

My family is my biggest supporters! My hubby never says no to my ventures he is always ready to pour into my plans. My children always bind over backward with the understanding of the hours of work I put in and support my ideas and endeavors. My oldest daughter is an inspired fashion entrepreneur who also follows my footsteps in the beauty industry. But with fashion as her first passion.
