Meet Tiffany Scott of Blush My Curls in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Scott.

Tiffany, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My beauty industry journey started during my teenage years and never could I have imagined I would own a salon for almost four years now. I was encouraged by my grandmother to look into getting my cosmetolgy license. After following her advice I signed up to attend Aveda institute and the day before classes started I won a full tuition scholarship. Now almost six years later I’ve been able to expand my knowledge in hair and makeup while uplifting and touching the lives of so many women.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
After graduating Aveda I struggled to find my niche and place in the industry. I begin learning more about the natural hair industry and saw that a movement was forming. Being from Miami weave and relaxers was all most of us knew. So getting people to embrace and transition to a healthier more natural alternative seemed a little difficult at first. Many times I thought about getting a regular job and guaranteed income. The hustle of the industry was scary at first but I pushed forward and vowed not to give up so easily. Thanks to social media and word of mouth I begin to slowly build a strong clientele.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Blush My Curls – what should we know?
My company Blush My Curls specializes in textured hair and makeup services. Hair services include all texture natural styling, full service color, protective styling, Faux locos and weave installation. My business has grown so much I am now able to branch off and create Textures Roots Collection by Blush My Curls. I’ve been able to incorporate my natural haircare line with my everyday clients which as been a win win for me. I’ve had the honor to do hair and makeup for Faith Evans, Adrienne Bailon, Felisha Monet, Julissa Bermudez and Teedra Moses. Yet, some of my proudest moments came from turning everyday women around in the chair and giving them a mirror to see smiles on their faces after they have struggled to feel like their best self. Being able to empower girls and women has been a joy I’ve never thought I could create for others.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family has been a huge support to me during the growth of my business and life in general. My friends who support me by getting services, letting me practice new styles or just simply reposting my business to social media.
