Meet Terozhane Milton of Exquisite Mink Lashes Co in Wilton Manor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terozhane Milton.

If I can describe my start of doing minks and jumping in to this field of beauty enhancement. I will describe it as it landing right upon my lap. When I was younger I used to go with my grandma throughout the week to go to the nail salon to get her lashes done. It seemed as though nothing else caught my attention more than the process of lashing. In high school I would go to the nail salon just like my grandma to get my lashes done until I started to notice I did not like the amount of glue they were using. It would cause me to lose more lashes the more consistent I became with getting them. So I decided to purchase lash serum while also purchasing different lash strips from people locally in my town and I learned how to put them on myself from cutting off the correct amount of the end and the corner of the lash band to making sure it fits the eye to placing it upon my eye and assuring that it sticks.
I then became a pro at lashing strips from doing myself to doing my friends but I never charged because it was just something I liked to do. In the summer of 2017 after graduating high school going in to my first year of college I learned something new and it was individuals. Not quite “minks” but the clusters from the hair store. I practiced on myself, while also amongst my peers on campus.
September 25,2018 I purchased my own mannequin head and lash kit with the money I saved up. I watched youTube videos to inform myself more about what I was looking to get in to, I did research on different sites and reached out to current lash techs in the field. In October I did my first client few clients on campus and it took hours. This caused me to get discouraged and stopped within 2-3 months .Although I was no longer lashing because of my fear of not succeeding I still continued to gain knowledge about lashes and watch videos for the fun of it. I decided I also wanted to learn more beyond YouTube because I knew that there was more knowledge for me to gain especially regarding safety and the importance of a certification. In June of 2019 I took a leap of faith and invested in to myself a lash class with a great lash class to see the knowledge I did not know I needed or knowledge I missed out on while also gaining a new skill of learning to do volume hand made fan lash extensions. While I am progressing and perfecting my craft I decided to take a refresher course and now I practice more to get to where I want to be.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth ride. I have not been perfect there were situations that I had to learn from but it has helped me better my brand. I am still getting the hang of wanting to reach out to people on behalf of marketing for my business because I would describe myself more of an introvert but if I want to build my clientele I would have to step out of my comfort zone. Along with times that I did not have a steady place to take customers to I would travel far for the sake of my business but now I am located in a shop in Wilton manors.

Please tell us about Exquisite Mink Lashes Co.
The name of my business is “Exquisite Mink Lashes Co”. I am known for doing individual mink eyelash extensions while specializing in doing volume minks where it’s not only a 1:1 ration of one extension to one lash but approximately 2- 8 extensions made in to a fan placed on one lash. What makes me most proud as a company is to see my growth in my work from 2018 to present day , being able to catch the eye of more people on Instagram because I have more content to post and I am more creative when it comes to advertising. But more importantly I am proud for not allowing myself to listen to those who tried to make me believe that the industry of mink eyelashes were over saturated because I would not be doing something I love today. What I believe sets me apart from others is my passion. I have a passion for lashes not the money for them. When you do something you love money will come! I put love in to every set I do and I do everything I can think of to provide the best customer service. Along with my marketing skills, during the summer I had a $40 promotion for any set and I decided to create a movie trailer to promote it so I thought that was cool.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I would have to say that my favorite childhood memory was when I was a toddler I stayed in West Virginia with my brother and my dad. We stayed on a hill and it was Christmas time. I remember like it was yesterday it was snowing. We both received so many gifts that Christmas that my dad brought both of us electric kiddie cars. I remember I received a pink and white Jeep but the presents blocked them until we opened enough and exposed just a little piece. The other presents did not matter, I was excited and ready to ride!
