Meet Tasheba Richards of FashionFreakssss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasheba Richards.

Tasheba, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always had a love for fashion, clothes, accessories, shoes, and purses. I first started in 2011 on eBay selling designer items, some new and some barely used. It was very successful but not as personal as I wanted to be with my customers. Most of my customers were overseas. I took a break to be a mom to my three boys. It was very difficult having a 9-5 and taking care of 3 children on my own.

I missed my business so I decided to launch my website and try just clothing.I relaunched my company with $100, my 14-year-old son was my photographer. People loved the ideas I had even though the pictures were not professional. It became more than just a boutique at that point, I branched off into becoming a stylist on photo shoots and later teaming up with some of Miami/Broward best photographers for special projects.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing is perfect, especially being a business owner and running a business all on your own. Some days you make money, some days you don’t. Sometimes it takes a year or more to even see a profit from your business. At times your spending more than your earning. So I highly recommend doing something you love, something you’re passionate about. When the rough days come, it’s easier to push through when you’re passionate about your craft/business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with FashionFreakssss – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m an online boutique owner and a stylist. I have an eye for fashion, turning a simple item into an extraordinary look with the right imagination. I am extremely proud of the progress I have made in the past couple of months. I have been featured on a fashion panel and magazine that will be coming out mid-March. I have been Onset of a couple of photo shoots with extremely talented photographers and models from the Miami and Broward area.

My first opportunity as a stylist was with over 14 models for a networking event called MiamiPhotoOp. I have never styled that many models at once but I held it together, prayed about it and made it happen! I then built up the courage to do my own photo shoot for my company with an awesome photographer George Wakefield/GWphotograpy and beautiful models. The event was called FashionFreakssss Train Photo Shoot. This included five models, a photographer, a videographer and myself. We took the photo shoot on a moving train from the Hollywood station to Downtown Miami. It was epic, I’m so proud of my team!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, everything that happened and is happening is supposed to happen. The struggles made me stronger, the disappointments made me better.
