Stephen, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Moved to Jupiter Florida in 2009 to open my first barbershop. Though I was cutting in Boca Raton area was very saturated with barbershops and was willing to move where an area most needed one. Also based on the demographics . So I open September 26, 2009 and it was only Barber and a six chair shop , with zero clientele and raising two sons on my own, after losing their mother a couple months prior. No one was more hungry than I was, failure would not be excepted. Some days I didn’t get one client, I would even starve myself because I was too afraid to leave and get lunch thinking that was one moment the one client was going to come in.
So one by one Barber by Barber I slowly built my shop into a six chair machine, eventually into 2013 I moved into a bigger spot in the same plaza, turn my six chair into a 13 chair shop, which is where am I saying lucky 13 comes from..my shop now does over 1 million in sales a year. In the third 1:45 thousand 18 I will be opening my second barbershop in Alton in Palm Beach Gardens.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Juniors Barbershop & Co. story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a garage inspired tattoo vibin, harley ridin, rock ‘n’ roll atmosphere, with first-class service. Men and boy haircuts of any age and hot towel shaves,beard trims specialty in designs….. It’s more than a haircut it’s an experience.. Top notch products include Layrite Suavecito, Paul Mitchell, Uppercut and maestros classic. We are known for a tattoos and her edgy appearance, Music like AC/DC and Metallica jamming in the background… Kids can even get a temporary tattoo with our logo on it, I am proud of the company where I started and by leading the way, I have a team on the same page, and run a shop like a fine tuned machine. Cutting over 1000 clients weekly ….. Everything sets us apart from any barbershop in palm beach county.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The barbers industry continues to grow since the early 2000’s, I will make sure Juniors Barbershop and Co. concept grows along with it.
