Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Jacques.
Stephanie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Funny enough, I am actually a beauty queen. I competed in pageants for the over ten years, (I guess… You could say I was “crown chasing”) Though I didn’t always win, one theme proved pervasive throughout each competition, I was “royal” or “crowned” long before and would be royal long after the competition was over. More times than I could count, I had invested all that I had into the dream of gaining a crown, only to come up short. Though at first, insecurity made its way into my heart through these setbacks, after one of my final competitions, I had a beautiful revelation and it changed my life forever! This profound realization left a resounding impression on my heart, something like “Wow, Steph. You are chosen! You’ve been called out by others and all along, you have been CROWNED.” It was then that I realized that my feelings about my “losses” had produced in me a faulty perspective.
It was then that I realized that Life can often feel just like not winning a beauty pageant. (Can I get an “Amen” ?!) We ALL pursue our dreams and desires and yet still face hardships and setbacks that hinder us from experiencing the results that we would’ve wanted. But, though we can’t often control our outcome, we do have power over is our “intake”: what we allow to come into our hearts and the vantage point we take concerning our circumstances. I believe that the right “intake” begets the right output. So, You are crowned exists to see women in this generation embracing being fully known and fully loved in Christ and to the world around them. This Soul Sisterhood exists to remind women of their royal identity & to empower them to walk confidently into Calling and purpose.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has been filled with moments of success and joy, but truthfully, like anything in life, building this dream has been riddled with difficult moments of fear, doubt and worry. Rejection is a natural part of dream chasing and in many instances, even with a worthy cause like You are Crowned and a stick-with-it attitude that I have, I have run into walls that have sent me into temporary seasons of dream paralysis. Despite the difficulties, the dream has continued to flourish and take new shape in my heart. Though hard seasons come, they are just that, seasons. They pass or we pass through them and come out better than ever.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
You are Crowned exists primarily as a motivational platform. Through video, photography and literary content, women are able to depend on the content that will subvert their way of seeing the trials in their lives, not in hindsight but as they navigate them.
I, Steph J, am a Purpose Coach, writer and speaker, from beauty queens to mommas of three and everyone in between, I spend time with women on a 1:1 basis identifying roadblocks to their goals and the life they desire, creating strategic plans for how to destroy not just bypass those roadblocks and walking alongside them as a constant motivator and helper in whatever way they need. I guess you could say I am a professional best friend.
As a speaker, I have been privileged to speak at women’s conferences, girl’s conference, seminar day and regularly as a Coach to women who have competed in pageants all around the world. Though life coaching and purpose coaching are very similar fields, I believe that what truly sets me apart is the heart that I have to see the women turn their pain into purpose. My faith is the primary source from which I gain instruction and help others do the same. I am passionate about Calling and Purpose coming alive in women. You are Crowned isn’t a behavior modification concept but a heart and mind transformation approach. Through our sessions and community, women will learn to be good stewards of their hearts and lives not for this season but forever.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe that transparency has been the most fundamental part of You are Crowned’s success to date. It is a primary aim of mine to be as vulnerable as I can in order to help people recognize that what they need to focus on during their journey toward their purpose and calling is the process and progress rather than perfection. A goal of You are Crowned is to be fully known and fully loved and to teach other women to walk in that very same freedom.
