Stefanie and Marcus, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Marcus and I moved to South Florida about 2 years ago. Marcus had a passion for starting his own business and I had a passion for natural hair care. We combined our passions along with the creativity of my sister, Natalie, to create Zaria Salon.
Zaria Salon is an upscale natural hair salon which provides quality natural hair care to women with naturally curly and kinky hair.
Although there were several salons in the area catering to natural hair, each salon had a particular niche such as wash and go or braiding. We have brought all-natural hair care services under one roof. Our clients know they can trust Zaria Salon with all their natural hair care needs.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Although construction of the salon took longer than we anticipated, the finished product was amazing and well worth the wait. We have seen a steady growth in our business since we opened and we anticipate that we will continue to grow and serve the curly girls of South Florida.

Zaria Salon specializes in caring for naturally curly and kinky hair. We are known for using quality natural hair products and focusing on the overall health of our clients’ hair.
We are most proud of quality customer service. We feel that going to the hair salon should be an enjoyable experience. We have amazingly talented stylists who provide service in a clean upscale atmosphere. We have also brought all-natural hair services (wash and go, silk press, braids/twists, cut and color) under one roof, which sets us apart from the typical natural hair salon. In addition, we also provide nail services using natural nail product lines Bioseaweed Gel and Zoya. We also provide make-up services.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We are satisfied with the outcome of the construction of the salon and the growth we have experienced over the past 7 months and would not have done anything differently.
