Today we’d like to introduce you to Spring Rice.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Spring Training developed when owner Spring Rice began bar tending at age 18 in her college years at Central Michigan University. With no experience starting this job, after 2 weeks an alcohol compliance class had to be completed and that was the basis for the formation of Spring Training. In the class, liability was emphasized and her responsibility to serve alcohol within the established guidelines of the class was taken to heart and became the driving force of being a professional bar tender. In 1990, a migration to Florida by Ms. Rice landed in Boca Raton and a job at Bloomingdales lead to her becoming the director of training. Trainings included customer service and human resource presentations. In 1995, Ms. Rice secured a position with Carnival Cruise Lines offering a preventing sexual harassment in the workplace training. The success of her presentations for Carnival lead to training seminars for the Miami Heat and Johnson & Wales University. Two years into this venture, the opportunity to expand into alcohol compliance training was added to the repertoire of Spring Training. The early success of this additional training lead to the introduction into the Florida Keys business district. After a brief exodus from the training business and a career as a flight attendant for both commercial and private airlines, Ms. Rice came back to the training business in 2009. The ups and downs of life landed Ms. Rice back in Boca Raton and Spring Training came back to life with alcohol compliance, alcoholic beverage licensing, food manager, food handling and preventing sexual harassment in the workplace trainings in 2017.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Constant changes to laws and regulations; language barriers and being able to train a variety of cultures; the threat of being able to endure and adjust to the threat of serious weather.

Spring Training offers alcohol compliance training; food manager and employee food handler training; preventing sexual harassment in the workplace training; customer service training and alcoholic beverage licensing.
There is a pride in the deliverance of both online and onsite presentations that viewers get a class that is informative, engaging and delivered in such a way that people retain the information. Whenever a presentation is repeated at a later date, pertinent, relevant and up to date information is relayed to the customer.

Integrity, experience, commitment to service, personality, public speaking and the delivering of a clear message are all important characteristics to the success of Spring Training. Interpersonal interaction leads to the development of positive and lasting business relationships. There is also a willingness on behalf of Spring Training to protect the customer investment and market their products to the public.
