Meet Lisa Landsman, Brandon and Max Pomeranz of South Beach Helicopter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Landsman, Brandon and Max Pomeranz.

South Beach Helicopters was founded in June of 2013.  Lisa Landsman Pomeranz is the Co-Founder/CEO/Chief Pilot for South Beach Helicopters. Brandon Pomeranz is the Co-Founder/Marketing Manager for South Beach Helicopters. Max Pomeranz is the Co-Founder/Director/Pilot for South Beach Helicopters. South Beach Helicopters (SBH) is South Florida’s Premier Helicopter Company offering private helicopter tours, aerial photography flights, and charters to our clients. We are a family-owned and operated helicopter company with the largest and nicest fleet of touring and charter helicopters in Florida.

South Beach Helicopters was created out of a passion for aviation, as the founders of SBH wanted to share their same passion with as many people as possible. This passion drove SBH to find a niche market in the South Florida area, as there was no other helicopter company providing luxury style helicopter flights in South Florida before SBH. By identifying this need in the South Florida market, SBH marketed heavily on social media and branded their company as the premier helicopter company in South Florida. Today, SBH has made their mark globally in the aviation industry and has become the top choice operator for people to fly with when in South Florida!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road for South Beach Helicopters because we are proactive and are constantly searching for ways to keep our competitive edge. With an increasing number of helicopter tour operators in the South Florida area, it is vital that we stay up to date on the latest technology in our industry, continue to make safety our top priority, continue to build on new and existing relationships with clients, continue to build our brand, and continue to explore new areas for growth.

Please tell about South Beach Helicopters.
South Beach Helicopters is South Florida’s Premier helicopter tour and charter company based in Pembroke Pines, FL. SBH offers helicopter tours, helicopter charters, and aerial photography flights in an all air-conditioned fleet consisting of Robinson 44’s, a Robinson 66, and an Airbus Helicopter.

SBH is all about pushing the limits of luxury and going above and beyond to give people the greatest adventures and experiences of their lives. SBH’s Helicopter tours can take you over scenic Miami Beach, South Beach, Key Biscayne, Downtown Miami, and Fort Lauderdale. SBH can also fly you to unique and exciting destinations all around Florida such as Orlando, Key West, Naples, and the Bahamas. Besides taking in the most scenic views in South Florida, our customers can have a romantic experience, become engaged, and even spot marine life, such as dolphins, stingrays, and alligators in their natural habitat.

South Beach Helicopters only offers private helicopter rides, a feature that makes us incredibly unique in the helicopter tour and charter industry. What that means is that when you book with SBH, you will never be flown in a helicopter with people that you do not know or who you did not book to fly with. When you book with SBH, you will fly in a “Limo Style” helicopter. What this means is that there are no logos on our helicopters so you will feel like the helicopter is yours while flying and when photos are taken outside the helicopter after your flight.

What are you known for?
South Beach Helicopters has grown a tremendous following on social media, with well over 110,000 thousand followers on Instagram (South Beach Helicopters Instagram account: @Southbeachhelicopters). On Instagram, South Beach Helicopters can be seen flying top celebrities and collaborating with the biggest luxury and travel brands from around the world. We have also worked with Ultra Music Festival on the Ultra Miami Aftermovie, and have shared the most amazing original content created from our helicopters. We are recognized for providing the safest, most comfortable, and best helicopter tours and charters in the industry.

Due to our popularity on social media people are always wanting to capture the same kind of videos and photos that we post on our Instagram page… and our answer to those that reach out is, “you can absolutely capture the same content we do, and you can do so with your cell phones!” (as most of the original content we create is done with an iPhone!) The original content on our popular Instagram page demonstrates what people can experience when they fly with us.

Favorite kind of flight for “Instagrammers? An Instagram favorite for our guests is definitely our aerial photography flights. Our custom created aerial photography flights (photo tours) allow people to fly over South Beach and the Miami area with the doors off!! Doors off flights have really picked up on social media as everyone is always searching for the coolest and creative content to share. What our doors off flights offer is a chance to fly over “The Magic City” with your friends and safely stick your feet out of the helicopter, which makes for the perfect Instagram shot known as a “shoe selfie”. These aerial photography flights allow one to partake in a really adventurous activity, while also being wowed by Miami’s radiating beauty.

What are you most proud of as a company?
As a company, we are most proud of being able to do what we love and share this same love for aviation with so many people. Flying in a helicopter tends to be a high point in people’s lives, and since we are always surrounded by positive energy, we are reminded every single day that we have the greatest job in the world!

What sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from others is our impeccable safety record, as we operate at and exceed the highest standards and arrange the safest and most efficient service. All of our helicopter experiences are private (meaning you will only fly with the people you booked to fly with), all of our helicopters have air conditioning (which is very important in Sunny South Florida), and all of our pricing is all-inclusive (meaning the price you see is what you will pay).

When you fly with SBH, you will also fly in a “Limo Style” helicopter. What this means is that there are no logos on the helicopters you will fly in, so you will feel like the helicopter is yours for the time that you spend with us.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
Brandon Pomeranz: By being a South Florida based helicopter company, South Beach Helicopters had the opportunity to represent the South Florida community by working on Bad Boys for Life. South Beach Helicopters assisted the aerial team “Team 5 Aerials” and legendary pilots Fred North, and Ben Skorstad while filming was being done in South Florida to capture Miami beauty shots and air to air scenes of a police helicopter patrolling the skies of the City of Miami.

As a boy, I remember watching the Bad Boys films and saw my city (Miami) get captured in the coolest way. I recall thinking to myself, “I would like to be a part of something like this someday”. I hope that after another young boy or girl sees this film (with a parent or guardian “laughs”), they too are inspired to go after their dreams and inspire others someday!

Max Pomeranz: Everyday is a proud moment as I get to work with the ones I love (my brother Brandon Pomeranz and mother Lisa Landsman Pomeranz). But if I had to pick an event that I feel very proud to have been a part of, it would have to be an event we did for a top tier watch brand. The event we participated in was located at a lavish home on Pine Tree Drive, which is located right across the street from the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach, Florida. It was an event where pre-qualified watch buyers were wined and dined to hopefully by a watch with a highly complicated and sophisticated watch movement.

Our helicopter boat pad was at the house on Pine Tree for this special event and we provided tours around Miami at golden hour for these pre-qualified watch buyers. The passengers who flew with us during this event were allowed to wear the watches on their wrists for the time of the flight. These flights I would say, served as a test drive. The same way one would decide if they wanted to buy the car they just got to feel is the same way these pre-qualified watch buyers got to feel their new watches on their wrists. This was a very lucrative event for us where we got to provide our luxury helicopter service and help a top tier watch brand sell some watches.

Lisa Landsman Pomeranz: I am very proud to be a female owner and chief pilot of a helicopter company with the largest all air-conditioned helicopter fleet of helicopters in South Florida. I started this business out of a passion for flying and I feel so lucky that I get to do what I enjoy every day with the people that I love. Most days I get to fly a Robinson 44, Robinson 66, and Airbus AS350 B2 in the same day, which is a pilot‘s dream!

As a female owner and pilot, I want to let others know they can accomplish anything they set their mind too. The aviation industry is a predominantly male-run industry and that has not stopped me from achieving my goals. Please don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t accomplish your goals because you sure as heck can, and you can do it with grace!
