So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m so happy to share a little about my skincare journey. It all started with ACNE, endless dermatology visits, and numerous aesthetic fails! My skin was never really “healed.” It seemed I could only make superficial progress. I was desperate to find a real solution. I decided to become an esthetician in 2003 and find a way to help myself and others. After graduating from Cartherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics with a Master Esthetician certificate, I was on my way to my true calling in life. As a Boston native, I was lucky to have worked in a few amazing holistic spas. With my 17 years of experience in the skincare industry, I decided to make a change so I flew South and I relocated to Miami. I was ready to start my own little oasis of peace and love for skin, mind, and spirit.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a totally smooth road but I sure have embraced the obstacles and bumps along the way. I was a newbie to Miami and that made it difficult to build Hippy Glow at the start. This was also my first business, so I was learning every step of the way. I was and am a strong believer that your vibe attracts your tribe. I believe this to be a positive reinforcement and it has blessed me with the best clients ever!!!
Please tell us about Hippy Glow.
Balance is everything in life… E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! My facials are influenced by Ayurvedic and deep facial massage techniques. I believe that ridding the face and body of stress is the secret to youthfulness. Through each treatment, I strive to give everyone the results they are seeking while promoting deep relaxation. I share with people a full body experience where they leave not only with glowing faces but a renewed mind, body and spirit as well. I incorporate crystal and hot stone chakra balance techniques in all my treatments. I finish with an aura cleanse that includes sage and Palo Santo. My reward is knowing that my gals and guys leave me lighter, brighter, and with a glow factor of 150%!!
Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
I truly love what I do. It’s not work for me, it’s a way of life. I am a healer… I love to heal. It’s very rewarding when I leave at the end of the day knowing that everyone left my space feeling amazing :). I believe people feel a happy, uplifting, positive vibe when they come into Hippy Glow and that they take these vibes with them when they leave x10. Energy doesn’t lie!
