Meet Sonia Broman of NRG VISUALS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonia Broman.

Sonia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was originally born in Russia, and I grew up in Israel, I came to the US when I was fourteen years old. When I was in High school, I was in photography magnet that pushed me to love the craft. I started with the original process of Black and White Film photography which was very close to my heart. And then I got into digital.

Now I do both got myself back into medium format. I started with street photography and then went into concert and event photography. I got tired of that scene and went into conceptual fashion photography.

From there, I started developing my own personal style that in many ways defines my work today. From composition to color a whole new way I look at things, and I am super excited to do more.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It never is a smooth road. First problems I dealt with early on is my age and people not taking me seriously because I was “too young” not seen past that into my potential.

Then, of course, some artistic blocks and identity of style struggles. But with the past two years sleeping an average of three and 1/2 hours according to my health app, really got me to focus and work harder.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a photographer, I shoot mainly concept fashion photography. I’m known for my color palette and low angles and the monochromatic scenery.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Working hard very hard. Constantly inspiring yourself and finding what inspires you so you know you can always go back to it. If its books, websites, traveling and etc. Also learning and helping others to learn.

To be open to other people’s opinions and judgments it will only help you grow. If you learn how to accept and digest feedback, you will lead to success.
