Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Diana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I’ve always loved hosting and planning parties. And I’ve always loved Mermaids, so it’s a dream come true to own a Mermaid Party business!
It started with an admiration for Daryl Hannah’s character, Madison, from the movie Splash. And then of course when the Little Mermaid came out, I was head over fin for Ariel.
Fast forward about 20 years to Summer 2014, I fell in love with Mermaiding (swimming with a Mermaid tail) thanks to a Mer-mama of 3 and friend of mine, named Holly. She’d begun selling these tails and was offering Mermaid swims and camps.
Later that year, I found myself in a new relationship with someone I had known in my grade school days. He moved to Florida when we were 14 and we fell in love while he was back in Toronto visiting family and friends.
We got engaged 7 months later and then I moved to Florida and married my Prince in Dec 2015.
I started using my Mermaid tail and Monofin more often – the weather here is PERFECT for mermaiding YEAR ROUND. I knew that it would be a great place to explore the business side of Mermaiding so I made a website and began selling the tails and fins while working full time as a Fire alarm inspector .
Things didn’t work out with the security company, so my husband and I agreed that it was a sign to pursue my dream of starting a kids entertainment company!
I began making props, ordering fabrics, shopping for decor and spreading the word amongst our circle of friends/family. I ordered my first supply of Mermaid tails in various sizes and before they had even arrived, I had booked my first birthday party for my friend’s 9-year-old Niece. It literally snowballed from there and just started taking off!
I believe I’m one of the first Mermaids to offer the full party package – mermaid tail rentals, mermaid entertainers, decor and specialty fabrics, shark fins, pirate props, glitter tattoos, hair braiding, cake table and backdrop design, giant pool floats, go pro underwater video, drone video – whatever we thought would make a party awesome, got thrown in. I even studied and obtained my FAA Drone Pilot License so that I could become a responsible and LEGAL drone pilot, at my parties.
Looking ahead: we are going to start venturing into various themes as well as adding new characters to our team! And we will be working with local resorts and hotels, bringing the Mermaid magic to their pools!
My mission is to make Mermaid dreams come true and to give every single guest the most unforgettable party experience.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of the only struggles that come to mind, is the HEAT! Working under the Florida sun in the summer is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to endure!
Other than that, I’m so grateful to say that it has been pretty smooth sailing, so far.

Our motto is “We make Mermaid dreams come true, one party at a time.” Almost every child we’ve done a party for has told us that it was their best party, EVER.
Our company name literally means: Mermaid Party (in Spanish). We specialize in creating a magical environment through props, music, and characters. We bought an old trunk and I turned it into a Treasure Chest, encrusted with seashells and always full of fun props for the kids to play with.
I really wanted a Mermaid Throne, so I built one! It took a few weeks and there were many trials and errors, but I’ve been told its the most beautiful Throne and work of art – I’ve even had a few people wanting to buy it!
I am most proud of our ability to deliver exactly what our customers want and always being able to surprise them with the little details they weren’t expecting. I am known for throwing in a few extras – and that is something I will make sure we continue to do.
What sets us apart is our ability to create a magical environment and truly connect with our guests. Our collection of gadgets and gizmos really takes things up a notch, and I think our clients love that about us.
I have also made some fun videos with the footage I get at the parties and that seems to set us apart, as well. The parents never expect it (unless they order a photography package) so it always adds a special touch. You can find the videos on our youtube channel, just search for Sirena Fiesta.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes – living in a coastal city has been great for my business. The allure of Mermaids has been around for centuries and I believe it is only getting bigger and better.
