Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Vernon, Erick Passo, and Mike Mora.
Shane, Erick, and Mike let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The three of us started Red Rabbit Presents back in 2011, with the intent to create an Entertainment Brand that would be a reflection of us and our city. We were young, ambitious, and operated on our own set of ideas. It all started with a pool party on Key Biscayne at the mansion on the water. Word of the party quickly spread, and we were eventually contacted by Club 50, where we start a rooftop pool party series called “Get Wet Get Wild.”
Those pool parties set the foundation for everything else – Red Rabbit Fridays @ Louis, Super Fridays @ Mansion, Base @ Space, The Basement @ The Edition Hotel, and the list goes on and on. We’ve collaborated with well over thirty venues in the city, throwing parties of all shapes and sizes. You can say all those years have brought us to this point, and we’re excited to say that 2017 saw us open our first venue, a high-end sports bar dedicated to the Magic City – Black Market Miami.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been the farthest thing from a smooth road. We’d love to talk to the guy who owns a successful business and says, “It was a smooth road.” You have your ups, your downs, and every direction in between. We’ve been screwed over more times than I can remember.
We’ve had massive successes, and we’ve had massive failures. We’ve been on top of the World, and we’ve been on the edge of calling it quits. The struggle is real, and it’s not for the faint of heart… But we wouldn’t want it any other way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Red Rabbit Presents – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Red Rabbit Presents is an Entertainment & Lifestyle company born and raised in Miami, FL. When we created Red Rabbit, we wanted to create a brand that would be reflective of who we are, and what we’re about. In the beginning, we would joke, “If one day we want to sell used cars, then we can open up ‘Red Rabbit Used Cars’.”
We like to use that parallel when explaining the brand to people because we never want to be labeled any certain way. While we got our in marketing, promotions, and events; we’ve now moved on to owning and operating our own venue. A new business opportunity could present itself tomorrow, and if we’re into it, we’ll pursue it.
I think we would all answer what we’re most proud of differently, but I think we would all agree that the fact we’re still standing tall eight years later, is something to be proud of. And more so than just standing tall eight years later, I’m proud of the way we’ve conducted ourselves over that time.
In an industry filled with snakes, we’ve been able to elevate ourselves above the noise and keep a set of morals that we can be proud of. I think that’s what sets us apart from everyone else as well…
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We’re opening up our second venue in March. I can’t go into too much detail right now, but we’re really excited about it.
