Meet Schatzi Borgella of Schatzi C Beauty in Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Schatzi Borgella.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Schatzi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Doing hair has always come natural to me, it started with creating different hairstyles for each of my dolls. Though this gift has always been knitted into my being, I never viewed hairstyling as a respected career field. My mother groomed me to pursue a degree in Nursing and ultimately go to graduate school, but that wasn’t in the cards for me. Despite my best efforts, nursing school and I did not have chemistry. So, one day while I was on the way to school, I noticed this building that caught my attention. After class, I decided to stop by to check it out and was immediately intrigue, something clicked and I knew that I’d found the fulfillment that I’d been seeking. I enrolled in the Aveda Institute, completed the rest of the semester at Broward College, started at Aveda, and never looked back.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing easy is worth having. I’ve experienced many obstacles along the way— some were massive, disturbing, and significant enough to cause me to throw in the towel. The passion I have for my craft along, with the sheer determination not to fail, has been the driving force needed to continue on the journey.

Please tell us about the company.
Schatzi C Beauty is a hair styling company specializing in natural looking hair extensions and bridal hairstyling. I also offer high quality hair extensions for my guests— making the experience convenient for my ladies who prefer to have everything in one place. Known for providing an intimate, personalized experience for each guest who comes in for services, I take pride in knowing that guests are comfortable and feel like the center of attention. Unlike most stylists, I do not double-book; this will allow each woman to schedule her hair appointment with the confidence that her time is accounted for and respected.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Tampa Bay is still up and coming. There is so much room to grow and cultivate my career as an entrepreneur. The city is growing and is still open to a fresh perspective. My least favorite part of the city is the lack of culture and diversity in creative spaces, though, it is changing.
