Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabine Jean.
Sabine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I was always a creative person when getting dressed. My friends use to always ask me for my opinion on what to wear and how to wear something. I spent most of my days after school walking the floors of local malls or in my closet finding different ways to style one item. Styling wasn’t something I was just good at, it was my passion! In college, a lot of my peers would ask me where I shop and where do I pull inspiration from. To their surprise, I wasn’t shopping at expensive stores. I learned at that moment that I had a way of making inexpensive pieces look expensive. I took that energy and channeled it into my blog.
B Stinger was born in August of 2011. Over the years the blogging industry grew to become much more lucrative and that allowed opportunities to follow. While I was running my blog I also began promoting myself as a wardrobe stylist and started building my clientele. My career took a shift when I met celebrity stylist Toni Lowe and worked as her assistant stylist on a few gigs. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with a few celebs of my own and styled and produced a couple of fashion shows. Both blogging and styling have opened so many doors for me. It’s connected me with some amazing people and gave me a chance to help other women and make a positive impact.
Has it been a smooth road?
This road has been a tough one. But if I can be completely honest, I’m still on my path. I have had my share of disappointments, failures, let downs, and made a lot of mistakes along the way. Learning from them is the important part. I use to be extremely hard on myself however, I started to realize everyone is trying to figure out, it’s ok if I still am too.
Tell us more about your work.
I’m an influencer, and wardrobe stylist. I create content on social media about all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I believe some of my proudest moments are when I get young women who reach out to me wanting advice or they feel stuck and don’t know where or how to start. Being able to help even with just words of encouragement warms my heart. After I style a client, and they see themselves for the first time. The reaction on their faces is priceless. Sometimes they’ll cry, scream, or smile from ear to ear. The bottom line is they are happy and feel good about themselves, the fact I could be a part of making that happen is the reason I do this.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I honestly see the digital community growing. If you don’t already have a website, youtube channel or something that’s connecting you virtually with your audience you just might want to hop on that! As far as fashion trends go, it’s a constant cycle. Everything old is becoming new again.
