Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnie Greenspan.
Ronnie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was exposed to art as a child and found it a great outlet for expressing my vivid imagination.
During my teen years I developed a unique style using magic markers that would later lead to my work as a mature artist using paint markers on canvas. I have explored working in a variety of mediums including digital art, painting, design and furniture art. Today I have a prolific and diverse body of work that reflects my constant interest in developing new creative concepts.
Has it been a smooth road?
Have had struggles throughout my career and continue to have them. I am currently trying to find gallery representation and other venues for my work.
Many ups and downs in my art career. A great opportunity to show or sell comes along followed by droughts. It can be discouraging. Doing art is such a big part of my life and a compulsive activity for me that I continue to create despite numerous obstacles. I have developed chronic wrist tendonitis, a repetitive hand injury that limits my ability to work as much as I used to.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My style of work stands out as recognizable and uniquely my own. I am proud that my artwork is included in the personal collection of fashion designer Nicole Miller. Recently, I did an art demo at the W hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The painting I created is now part of the hotel’s art collection. I created a whimsical, original design on a chair for Artserve’s Red Eye 2018 show.
I am also know for providing unusual art at affordable prices. I stand out on social media for creating work that is innovative and different. I have a strong presence on social media and find the numerous art-related sites wonderful for exposing my art to a broad audience.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
South Florida is a great place for artists with many outstanding galleries, museums and art organizations.
Artserve has been particular helpful providing gallery space and exhibits were I can show and sell my work. I have been a member of the organization for approx. 25 years.
