Today we’d like to introduce you to Rio Santana.

Rio, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It’s pretty simple… Family. I grew up in IHP. I still remember to this day when my dad (JC, Owner of IHP) and I were across the street and him telling me it’s going to be the best gym in the world and here we are 17 years later and voted one of the top facilities in the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any business IHP did have its ups and downs but we have found a groove and it’s been working for us. Our team is very unique and each individual plays a pivotal role in making sure that IHP is performing at the highest levels day in and day out. My opinion we have the best team that we could ask for everyone here has each other’s backs and we are more than coworkers we are family.

Please tell us about The Institute of Human Performance.
IHP is the mecca of functional training. We are not only a gym that you could come in every day and go to go work out and you could have a life-changing experience. We have everything from monthly memberships, group classes, personal training, team performance training, educational mentorships, online university (ihpuniversity.com), fitness equipment products, educational DVDs and books, and the list goes on. We train every type of clientele and make sure they get a great experience at IHP every day.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Without hesitation no. I believe everything that you go through from the good and the bad is for a bigger purpose then we all think. I feel when you go through tough times and you’re able to come out stronger it plays a pivotal role in who you are as an individual.
