Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Aldama.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ricardo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It’s a family business. We started many years ago working at a store downtown in 1980. We’ve existed since the late 70’s. We’ve been expanding from the very bottom, selling and distributing the most expensive and luxurious fabrics in the world whether it is for ladies, men’s or decorative.
Through the years we’ve expanded so much that we’ve included the services for each type of fabrics, such as bespoke tailoring, bespoke shirting, upholstery and very high-end dress making, in interior decor we do it all from a simple pillow to the most intricate drape or upholstery piece.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh my god. There’s no success story that has a smooth pass. It is not a matter of luck. This is the result of very hard work.
Please tell us about Rex Fabrics.
All the lines of fabrics that we represent, and we carry a large stock under our roof. Our business has always based in exclusivity, and that’s what we offer to our clients. We don’t seek for many customers, we look for the customer that wants something custom made.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I have been so fortunate and so passionate of what I do, if I had to start again I’d do it all the same again. Because when you start you never have the experience.
