Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Guzman.
Ramon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today
I started with always being fascinated with the 90’s neon vibe colors, and those colors didn’t always make it on to sneakers back in the 90’s but on occasions they did. Once they did I was all into those sneakers, then in 1992 Shaquille O’Neal was drafted into the NBA and his 1st signature sneaker was a buzz. I had to have them. My mom worked so hard to get a pair for me and my brother. I wouldn’t ever let my mom spend her money on expensive shoes for me there on out but I got hooked to the sneaker culture.
Has it been a smooth road?
Well, I have taken several breaks throughout my years of collecting sneakers. I officially started collecting sneakers back in 1998 and I have had some moments where I have paused or have slowed down. However, my passion for the sneaker culture would and will always be with me.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a social media influencer, brand ambassador and I work as VP of digital marketing for a company called Sandviper. I’m known for being an OG in the sneaker community, I network with several representatives from our community and I showcase my passion for sneakers and fashion on Instagram. I enjoy taking high quality creative photos and I treat my Social Media platform as an electronic diary of my collection along with my fashion interest.
I’m most proud of the fact that a good amount of my followers look to me for guidance, and I’m well respected because I’m always the same I don’t switch it up on people. What set’s me apart is the versatility in my collection.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city is a wonderful place for social media influencers. Whatever your specialty is Miami is such a wonderful melting pot of cultures and artists that anyone that’s starting can leverage our city to grow in their particular space.
