Thanks for sharing your story with us Rafael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was a hotel concierge for 16 years and the last six years as Chief Concierge of St Regis Bal Harbour Resort. When guests would request a tour of Miami, The Everglades and Key West there were no options but to call those tour companies that have double-decker buses or similar. It was a challenge as a high-end hotel concierge to put together a real exclusive tour and the idea was born. It took me 13 months to put the company together, lots of business meetings, historic courses with the best one in Miami Dr. Paul George and the best tour guide Mr. Kevin Doran, feedbacks from other concierges and finally on December 14th, 2017 I did my first Miami City Tour.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The first two months it was a financial struggle because my expectations were high from the other hotels in Miami, but as my wife said “they know you as a concierge and not as a tour guide”, with patience, lots of marketing on the third month I saw a high volume of calls and course costumes.
Please tell us about your business.
Magic City Adventures specializes in luxurious tours done in exclusive vehicles and with the most prepared five stars tour guides. Our tours are shaped to the guest’s needs. We are known for the black and white pictures display on the LCD screen of each car, we show photos of Miami and its personalities from 100 years ago. The idea is to give our clients a sense of the past and when looking out of the window of the car they can see the difference, how Miami has grown so fast. I’m proud to have the best team of tour guides in Miami, my team is my second family. Magic City Adventures has no competition and that sets me apart from all other tour companies.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would do nothing differently, I’m proud how I started and I would do the same if I had to start over.
Pricing:
- Miami City Tour- 4 hours excursion to the best sectors of Miami such as: South Beach, Wynwood, Little Havana, Down Town, Financial District, and Coral Galble. $650.00 for up to 13 people.
- Everglades Tour- 4 hours excursion to the Everglades where clients can experience a full hour on the airboat, see alligators in their splendid habitat followed by an alligator presentation. $900.00 for the first 4 guests and $50.00 additional guests.
- Key West Tour- 12 hours excursion to the Florida Keys where patrons will enjoy the most scenic ride of 38 islands and 42 bridges. The final island is Key West where shopping and sightseeing is spectacular. $12000.00 for up to 13 guests.
