Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Feldman.
Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?i
If you’ve ever been one to second-guess your worth because of dyslexia, other learning disabilities or less than ideal test-taking skills, I have a story to share with you.
I was that young person once and you are not alone. In fact, you are probably one of the most brilliant people on this planet. Do you know how I know that? Because like you, I also allowed my brilliance to be stifled by my perceived shortcomings for far too long.
You see, from my early years in a private elementary school, I was told I had learning issues, was always put in the “D group” in reading and math and grew up thinking I was dumb. I couldn’t figure out how to read, spell or even do math. I’d constantly flip my letters, and experienced massive anxiety and panic attacks when it came to writing and taking tests.
Back then, there were not too many tests to assess learning issues like there are today, so I wasn’t sure what was really going on with my brain other than it just didn’t work like it should. My self-loathing feelings about my learning capacity continued into high school when I was forced to take the SATs. Despite my parents paying for a tutor, I bombed the test that supposedly “determines your future.”
At that point, I never thought I would get into any college. However, though I wasn’t “intelligent” per educational standards, I was always a determined young woman and that was a characteristic that could never be taken from me.
As I neared the end of high school, I decided to positively channel my own pain and create something positive from it. Capitalizing on my passion for helping others, I put together various support groups for other high school kids who were having difficulty with issues such as learning, expressing themselves, overeating, under-eating, and being bullied. It was this and other volunteer work that blew away college administrators and led me to get accepted into college.
Fast forward to my post-college years when I decided to pursue commercial real estate and found out I had to take another big test to even get into the career. The childhood feelings of pain and anxiety crept back into my mind and my self-limiting beliefs pierced through my heart. I am a wellness momma and business niche coach. I started my business as a Health Coach and after a lot of success, coaches were asking me if I would be their business coach.
I help my clients worldwide to build epic businesses online and offline using a strategic sales funnel even if they are a new coach. After only earning 13K my first year in coaching, I knew I needed to learn how to create a sustainable business built with a solid sales funnel. I went from making 13K to 72K by year 2 1/2 and then broke six figures in her third year of business by creating multiple streams within my 1:1 coaching, online and offline programs plus creating the white label and copyright free programs for health coaches to use in their business.
I teach the same system I built my successful health coaching practice to other health and wellness professionals. I started out in this business without branding or a clear message. I did not have the money to hire a coach or somebody to teach me, and at the time I created my business, there were not as many videos on ” How to create a business, brand or website” so, I tapped into my drive and intuition.
I have hired and fired more people who told me, “do it only this way.” Why? When you run your business without that gut feeling, and you let go of intuition, your business will not be as authentic as if you dive deep into what drives you and your potential clients.
I did not get lucky. I worked hard to get where I am but I am here to tell you that any business you want to create and have a legacy is possible, even with little money in the bank. I used free platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube videos to get international clients.
Today, I have a thriving business and support other coaches to crush it online and offline.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I laugh when people ask me if it has been a smooth road. I think it is hard to see the behind the scenes when you see somebody successful. I made mistakes people make and have invested in platforms or even people I hired that did not work and I lost money. One of the biggest lessons I learned in business, is to shift with the times and not to be scared to pivot. I have had webinars that did not get great sign ups but then, I changed the name and within hours, I was at 500-plus people. Don’t be scared to pivot.
There will always be obstacles but what make a great business person… is how they handle the obstacle.
I am here to tell you this:
1. Nothing is easy when you start a business from scratch.
2. You may be the only person seeing your own vision.
3. Even if you have a team helping you build your business, there are always going to be hiccups even with the best team.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rachel A. Feldman story. Tell us more about the business.
I am known for my no BS and no fluff approach to health and business. I have had multiple diagnoses for autoimmune stuff, which is what led me to be a health coach and leave corporate America. I used to teach about detox, cleansing and digestion and would share what worked for me and what did not. I do the same as far as business coaching and teach coaches what worked for me and how to let go of the blueprint so that you can intuitively, run your business but also have a solid sales funnel to have a healthy business.
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, Wild Rose Natural College of Healing, the International School of Detoxification and Natalia Rose Advanced Detox Certification Training.
Published in Florida Man and Woman magazine, Forbes, Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, Williams & Sonoma blog and Ripe & Ready, among others. She’s a driven entrepreneur and spends her spare time teaching: “How to create a profitable business” at the Hippocrates Institute. Even though, she’s always on the go, teaching, speaking on podcasts and summits, she makes time in her day for a green smoothie and chocolate at noon and a cuddle session with her kids at night.
I am not scared to get dirty as Gary Vee says, which means I will answer emails from people instead of my assistant t doing this. WHY?
It means a lot to people, and customer service and over delivering are my middle names. I have changed lives.
I have helped people to regain their health. Now, I teach other coaches how to do the same. I am most proud of the fact that I built my business from scratch. You can do the same.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t mess with luck. I believe the law of attraction matched with daily massive action is what creates a powerhouse biz.
