Meet Quinshae Smith of Beautifulhustler in North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinshae Smith.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Quinshae. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The journey to becoming a Known brand and one of the biggest upcoming beauty influencers has not been easy. It takes a lot of patience, planning, tears, late nights, overthinking, trial and errors and most importantly prayer. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always had the passion for doing hair and my biggest goal was to become a celebrity hairstylist, and today at the age of 26, I have accomplished that and so much more. I’ve worked with celebrities such as momma dee, hood brat, Cuban doll, and flyttattedskyy and more, just to name a few. I started doing hair in middle school and was known as the “twists girl” because I started doing rope twists and braids. Once I got into high school, I started to focus on quick weaves and sew-ins and continued on after graduation.

Moreover, what most people don’t realize is that not only do you have work hard to get to where you want to be, but social media is now one of the most important factors to succeed in the beauty industry. Branding and promotion is a VERY IMPORTANT, and with the creation of Instagram, BEAUTIFULHUSTLER was born. I created my Instagram back in 2012, and today with branding and posting great content, I have built a fan base of 0ver 34,000. However, another big social site that has built me a worldwide fan base is YouTube. Posting hair tutorials and promoting on YouTube has made me into not only a wide, wide known hairstylist, but a beauty influencer. A beauty influencer is a person that promotes different brands and products for several companies and gets paid for promoting. My YouTube fan base is over 80,000 subscribers, and with a collective fanbase over 110.000+, I decided to start my own product line known as “The BeautifulHustler Brand”.

I now have my own Waterproof lace glue(Lace Melt Adhesive), Wax stick(GlamWax), Edge control and many more products. My products have been selling extremely fast due to the quality of my products and also how I market and brand them and I am so proud of myself. However, as I began to grow more in this industry, I still feel this only the beginning and there is so much more to come. I can’t wait to see what more is in store for Beautifulhustler here on out.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
What I had to realize was that my biggest problem in achieving my true success was Me… Sounds a bit crazy right? But let me explain… Most of the time, we let ourselves get in the way of our own success. One of my biggest problems is procrastination. A lot of times, I know what I have to do and when I need to, but I get extremely lazy at times and do not handle business as I should. This sometimes puts me behind on reaching certain goals I set for myself as well.

Another problem I use to have, which I’ve been working on is poor money management skills. As a business owner, you must know how to manage your money. Poor management skills will make things go downhill financially. What I’ve learned is that even as the owner of my business, I still have to separate business from personal. You have to pay yourself FIRST, have a personal and business account, decide what’s a good investment, and if make sure it’s profitable. For example, I’ve had a total of three salons, and each salon was bigger each time I reopened one. Unfortunately, with my last salon, it wasn’t a great investment. The salon was beautiful, and the business was going great, but it wasn’t profitable. I was spending my business and personal funds for the upkeep just to stay afloat because the salon wasn’t paying for itself as it supposes to. Not only that, it wasn’t in the best location, and the building was falling apart, so I had to make the decision to close it and learn from the mistakes I made. On the other hand, salon number 4 is opening soon and will better than ever.

Beautifulhustler – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What sets me apart from others is that I am not afraid to teach others what I know and how to get to where I am. Most people fear competition and allowing others to get ahead, but I’m a firm believer in what’s for me, is for me and I want to see everyone win. When it comes to what I specialize in, I really can’t put the finger on it. I do a lot of lace installs and installs with natural leave out, and I do them both very well. However, I’m most known for my lace installs now because that’s what I teach mostly on YouTube and how what I install on my clients.

Moreover, what I am mostly proud of when it comes to my brand, are my products and product sales. I sell out my products in less than 12 hours every restocks and I couldn’t be more happy and grateful. I just want to thank all my supporters for believing in me and my brand.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me has so many different levels. When I am able to put all my bills on auto-pay and not have to check my account that’s success lol. No seriously, success to me is being an inspiration to those looking up to me. Being financially stable, mentally and physically healthy, spiritually strong, making continuous money in my sleep with my brand sales, full savings account, creating generational wealth and most importantly being able to work less and spending more time with my son. That is when I will truly feel successful.
