Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Lamos.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have been an artist my whole life, drawing ever since I could hold a pencil in my hand. I actually have a picture of me with a marker pretending that I am tattooing myself when I was around four so I guess I could tell I always wanted to be a tattoo artist. I started with painting and drawing, and when I got little older around 13, I started to do graffiti legal and illegal as well with older guys that had a lot of tattoos thats when I really started to think that thats what I wanted to do in my life. I started to paint more and started selling portraits of people to save up money, and when I was 16, I bought my first tattoo machine. The first day I started to practice on plastic skin which I didn’t like so I tattooed myself right the first day, and next day I tattooed my mom, and then it went for all my friends and family. Portraits and realism was always something I enjoyed the most so thats what I tried to do since the beginning. In Europe learning tattoo is different than in the US, I learned everything from watching the best tattoo artists from youtube videos and their Channels. And thats how it all started for me I tattooed sometimes 7 days a week sometimes for free just to get the best I could and after around 3 years of tattooing I have been invited to guest spot in Florida, I fall in love to this country when I came for a couple of months so I contacted a lawyer of what I should do . My only option was to win multiple conventions and get very known across the world. so I went to convention every other week and won around 65 1st places , I have been in the magazines , I was a judge at the conventions as well so we applied for category which they call ”alien with extraordinary ability” in art and I am proud to say I got approved and am first tattoo artist in the history of USA who got green card for tattooing so I am glad I got this opportunity and can continue to work on my art in the states and push my career even more and show people more of my style.
Please tell us about your art.
I specialize in hyperrealism tattooing. I take a picture of person, animal or whatever is on the picture and make it look like a photograph. For the most part, though, I try to be original and make it my own I like to put different pictures together to make it one of a kind for person and something that they will be wearing proudly for the rest of their lives. I love to do big projects on people that will allow me to express my art in different ways where I also put different styles from realism to new school, etc. I hope that people will take from my art that I put my heart into it and that they will see a difference between a person who does good realism and who is not so good at this style. if you take a picture of your daughter to a tattoo artist who only specializes mostly in old school, there is big probability he won’t be able to do it as look alike as someone who does mostly hyperrealism.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Make sure you push yourself every day, don’t get too comfortable. Many people get to a certain level when they are known and booked for months and get kind of stuck and will stop learning and think they are the best. you can learn new things every day from somebody so make sure you keep up with that.

Peter is amazing with the work he does! I give him my ideas and he makes them 10X better and the tattoo looks unbelievably realistic. Ever since I met Peter, I won’t go to anyone else for my work!
