Today we’d like to introduce you to Papii Steez.
Papii, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My aunt discovered I could sing around the age of five or six I believe. I used to sing in church a little bit growing up and pretty much just did it for fun. Fast forward years later around the age of 18, I started posting videos of me singing on twitter and they were going viral 1 by 1. So then I decided I wanted to try making music foreal. I called my aunt who at the time had managed and dropped two artists before me and asked told her I wanted to make music and I needed help. She then became my manager and found me a studio immediately and a vocal coach. I then released my first single “Right Now” via Soundcloud. 25 thousand streams later I decided I was ready to dive into music and the rest was history.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There were lots of obstacles and frustrating moments along the way and I’m sure there will be more. From dealing with labels, scammers, studio issues, deleted music/projects, etc. But if it wasn’t hard, it wouldn’t be worth it.

I am a recording artist. I make R&B Music and Rap music as well.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would’ve started making music significantly more early than I started.
