Meet Pablo Delgado of CIRCULAR Gallery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pablo Delgado.

Pablo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Moving back to Miami in 2019, I knew I had to re-establish myself in the market in a new way. I’ve created concepts for Miami like “The Garment Hub” downtown and ” The Gift Bar” at Anatomy but I needed to involve myself in something new, something on my own, and something of the times we live in today. Because I am engaged to an artist, a gallery automatically became part of that equation. Today, an experience to me is worth every dollar, so I wanted to ensure that I am offering an experience to people with a purpose. Between the pioneers in my life of the “zero waste” movement, my future husband, and my experience in developing and producing sustainable fashion, CIRCULAR happened.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Well, I signed my lease for the space on February 29!!!! What would you say? GRRRRR!!!! Having to shut my door on March 16 JUST after building it out, ordering all the merchandise, and using all of my savings, I wanted to literally return to the space, hand over my keys and go into hiding. Corona Virus separated me from my partner as he is currently living in Cuba, and I couldn’t have felt more alone. But then, my family and friends reminded me of who I was. What I’ve accomplished and how grateful I should be that I had all the time in the world to sit at home, alone, and work on my website. I had gotten news from fashion friends in Italy that the E-Commerce world was booming, so I knew I had to focus. I ended up launching my site on April 10th and the amount of orders that came showed the support I was about to receive from family and friends but also a sign that this was the number one thing I had to do for the next coming weeks to survive. I launched an IG account, started ads and created newsletters. I began my journey in creating an e-commerce platform that today is about 50% of my revenue.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a concept store, gallery-like with art and sculptures but not limited to all items lifestyle: women, men, kids, babies, apothecary, cosmetics and art! Our gallery just added a refill station where you can become a plastic-free house; however, my idea is just be as educational as possible, letting each consumer identify with the products and concept wherever they may be in their journey to conscious consumption.

I have curated the space to enhance global awareness through conscious development and lifestyle brands while my partner, IHOS, has curated the artwork which includes a photo series he shot in 2014, “Project Echinopsis” A Sip of Life that calls for a reflection on the discriminate use of natural resources and sculptures made out of metal figures welded by debris found in car shops in Havana. We focus on the circular economy, sustainability and the luxury that comes from it! We also are proud to help others become a “plastic-free” home through our refill station by Society Laboratory.

What were you like growing up?
I would say I always had an interest in fashion and in being a leader in that realm. I was expressive about who I was and I stood out for being different but also inclusive and gained respect for always being true to myself. I felt like I was destined to live in NY when I first stepped foot at 19. I remember my first boss telling me, ” Pablo, Manhattan is filled with tons of money but ZERO ideas and you’re a young kid with a lot of ideas and ZERO money. One day, you’ll be making money from all of those ideas.” Something to that extent. It planted a seed that stayed with me throughout my whole career.
