Meet Oren Lankri of Oren Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oren Lankri.

Oren, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved to implement artistic creativity found in top trends of the beauty industry and predicting upcoming trends as well. I started my career as a top celebrity hairstylist in Israel, and eventually went on to work in different corners of the world.

In Paris, I worked as the Color Director for TONI & GUY, in addition to styling celebrities and assisting in the production of runway shows for major fashion houses. As the former color director at TONI & GUY in France, I built a respected name for myself in the beauty industry.

That’s not to mention the dozens of celebrities and models I’ve styled, including those for Donna Karan and Roberto Cavalli runway shows. The idea upon opening up at The W in South Beach was to bring a luxurious spa-like experience offering an array of makeup, beauty treatments, and salon services.

The key concept is to provide every element for a woman to feel beautiful and leave satisfied.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest challenge of being a hair stylist and an owner of an elite hair salon in the beauty industry is challenging yourself every day to be on top of everything and to achieve the ultimate requirements necessary to be number one in the industry.

From a stylist in the industry for over 20 years – from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000’s – you see a big difference in dramatic changes of new trends. It’s crucial to be able to adapt and create your own unique vibe to showcase your personality through your work.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Oren Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m mostly known for my hair transformations that take clients from any color or current length such as short hair to long or vice versa to create the ultimate completed look which includes color, hair extensions, and style.

One of the most important things I emphasize upon with my clients, no matter what they may request, I always analyze their skin tone, hair type, eye, and hair color to create a natural look that will flatter and enhance their individual features.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career is every time a client leaves my chair feeling like a million dollars.
