Meet Renata Costa of Office&Co. Brickell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renata Costa.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Office&Co. was originally opened in São Paulo, Brazil to be the home for new businesses. We are not providers only of physical office, but also the entire networking infrastructure for our clients´businesses to thrive.
One year after inauguration in Sao Paulo, Office&Co. doubled in size and occupies today the entire last floor of a beautiful building at the heart of São Paulo´s financial district and has been the address of hundreds of companies.

Office&Co. Brickell is the expansion of the brand. We are the first Brazilian coworking office to expand internationally. Similarly to São Paulo, our office in Brickell is the home to many international entrepreneurs. Our Brickell clients have free access to our São Paulo branch´s conference rooms and vice-versa.

Office&Co. Brickell is also the location of great international networking. Although, the majority of our clients is Brazilian, we have a diverse and differentiated group of clients, creating strategic opportunities for all of them. We created a trusted network of professionals that are able to supply every service our clients need to develop their businesses: lawyers, accountants, consultants, brokers, etc.

Office&Co. Brickell was honored by The Beacon Council and Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez with the Key to the City of Miami as being the new business hub for international entrepreneurs.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a rough beginning. Renovation took much longer than expected, followed by hurricane Irma. We had to face a 4-month delay until actually opening the business.

After that, the struggle was learning how to do business in another country and adapting yourself to it.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Office&Co. Cowoking Brickell story. Tell us more about the business.
My company provides office solutions to other companies. When I say office solutions, I mean the entire package: physical space, conference structure, administrative assistance and most importantly, strategic networking.

Our clients have free access to many networking events we promote. From time to time, we gather people from different industries and countries and offer them an opportunity to interact and make new business connections. My business partner and I are active members of many professional groups and chambers, so we are able to bring our clients multiple business opportunities and facilitators. We do it ourselves. We are here every day. We are the ones who host our clients´ clients, partners and we are constantly looking for ways to help their business thrive.

We are proud to say that our clients choose to bring their businesses to our office because they are sure this place actually cares for their business and they will find here, the quality networking they need.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe the shared office model is here to stay. Bigger companies will migrate to the shared concept, for cost, simplicity, flexibility and networking. Our office embraces all industries. The more the merrier. But, I believe that the number of shared offices will grow and some will be directed to specific business industries, such as technology.
