Nicolas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I was 18 years old, I started my first company back home in France and the second one ten years after. I find the world of tech to be incredibly fascinating, addictive even, as things change every day. The new solutions, new projects, new technology– I love it, and I love working in tech even more.
These days, 90%+ of potential buyers are looking for their dream home online, on the other side, the seller (69%) are eager for something different than the so traditional real estate industry but both scenarios once didn’t have an opportunity to deal directly together as they don’t have access to the same tools than the industry.
Thanks to these cool platforms like Zillow, Trulia, even beycome. 😉 These home listings that were once hidden behind a multiple listing system that only real estate agents have access too, people can take more ownership of buying/selling a home. Nobody knows better where there looking to live more than the buyer. So if a buyer or the seller is doing most of the work, shouldn’t they be entitled to the commission on their deal? The process of buying/selling real estate has been unchanged for many years. Both the buyers and the sellers hire realtors for credibility. Most people on either side of the transaction are reticent to circumvent the process for fear of appearing to be lower in quality. The real estate industry reinforced this notion by promoting realtors as the fountain of knowledge.
That common bias provoked me and my co-founders, Philippe Kalifa and Herve Barbera, to launch a platform that combats this problem. beycome is a real estate platform that removes the middleman, bringing owners and buyers together. beycome is different from the rest of the industry because we give homeowners the resources they need to sell their homes without trapping them in contracts or asking for the commission, while also giving buyers the negotiation power they need to get the best deal on their future home.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I always consider luck as a part of our human life. I m not a player at all, but I always believe that things happen for a reason. I don’t look back at my bad luck experiences. Instead, I use the energy towards moving forward. The past is the past you live and you learn. I prefer to see a glass half full than half empty with this philosophy. I consider myself very lucky. I’m a happy husband, a happy Dad (with my 2nd on the way ), a Happy CEO, Manager, and team partner. Luck is a part of your success for sure, but I’ve learned a better lesson from my fails.
