After more than six years of experience, Venezuelan designer Nataly Mendez, who was known for her footwear brand Luna, is now leading her footwear firm in the United States and Venezuela. Nataly Mendez tells us that her Venezuelan brand with Colombian manufacturing, has specialized in tropical women’s footwear and that she has managed to breakthrough in the most competitive market in America such as the United States.
“Two years ago working on Luna, promoting what was also my brand, I felt the need to create a new style, more elegant, sober but with the same joy that I always like to place each of my designs,” said the designer.
“This is how after moving from my country, I began to transform all my goals and I found an idea of reinventing myself, but under my name, now from scratch, which again aroused my entrepreneurial passion. I am an enterprising woman who fights for her dreams, I don’t give up easily ”.
This is how the now Calzados Nataly Mendez firm is distributed in Venezuela, in the city of Miami and West Palm Beach Florida. Their shoes have the perfect formula between style, comfort, and glamor.

Nataly Mendez’s designs are manufactured in Colombia, she tells us that without her team of professionals and shoe artisans, nothing would be possible.
“My team is everything, this is made up of Venezuelans and Colombians, which fills me with happiness deeply. The development of them as professionals within our factory is a fundamental point within our company ”expressed Nataly.
“Today I can tell you that our shoes are 100% handmade, which gives them a competitive value, these are unique and unrepeatable pieces”.
Mendez told us, which has always been a curious material, “Mixing textures is what I love most,” he said. The selection of its materials is made between Colombia, USA China and India.
Nataly Mendez’s proposal includes a variety of high shoes, most platforms, lined in fique, mules and flat sandals.
In Venezuela, Nataly Mendez sells her shoes in her boutique at the Delicias Plaza Mall in Maracaibo. And in Florida, he sells his shoes at Dadeland Mall, Shops at Merrick Park, Miami Design District and Wynwood Arcade.
“We are interested in conquering the Anglo-Saxon and European markets too,” She said.
“We sell to our customers in Venezuela and the United States on our website while we continue to expand.”

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been an easy road, after four years working in our factory in Venezuela, we were presented with difficulties in terms of the social and economic situation of my country. I had to emigrate to the United States, where I re-started my brand starting from nothing in 2018. I started again in Colombia, from the hands of talented artisans who work with me in the development of each of my designs. No matter how hard the road is, for me, the goal was always clear, and to achieve it you always have to work very hard.
Tell us more about the business.
I am the designer of my shoe brand Nataly Mendez, I am the one who produces each of the designs that are made in our factory, as well as the selection of each of the materials that make up our shoes. Our shoes have always been characterized by an interesting mix of materials of different textures.
