Meet Natalie Sanchez of Home Regrown in Brickell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Sanchez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Natalie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was that weird kid that would convince my friends that cleaning their room was a super fun game for us to play. Yes, I was successful multiple times.

I’ve always had a good sense of order and a keen eye for design. Growing up, I never thought much of it. I never thought twice about my weird obsession with putting the crayons in exactly the same order they originally came in or how much I loved organizing and labeling my school supplies. Today, these are skills that I rely on to help families gain a renewed space in their home.

After graduating from marketing and working in the corporate world for ten years, the pace of my life completely changed. My husband and I had our first child, and soon after, a second baby. As a mother, my success depended on the systems I had established in my home. This, along with my passion for creating beautifully organized spaces, led me to start Home Regrown.

My family has lived in small spaces and, over time, we’ve become minimalists. We are constantly donating and passing along items that no longer serve us. When I started Home Regrown, I couldn’t help but think of all the homes I could declutter and all the donations I could contribute to local organizations and abroad.

Home Regrown is rooted in home organization and philanthropy. In the short time, we’ve been in business, we’ve given clothing and kitchen items to immigrant families that are starting from scratch and donated furniture to homeless relief organizations. And we are only getting started! This is the heart of our company. Our work has meaning. We create beautiful spaces in our client’s homes and grow the good in this world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We are in our first year of business, learning so much and constantly improving our client offering. As we work in more and more homes, we gain a greater connection with each client. We want to know each client on a personal level because that is what is going to make our project function for their lifestyle and preferences. We’ve learned to ask better questions and understand all of the variables that has brought the space to its current state. This understanding is what sets us apart and what makes us successful at what we do.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Home Regrown – what should we know?
Home Regrown is a combination of home organization and philanthropy. We create functional, beautifully organized spaces, collect the unwanted clutter and directly deliver it to organizations that are making a difference locally and around the world. Those old towels you want to get rid of? We donate them to animal shelters. Non-perishable food that is taking up space in your cabinets? We donate them to local food banks. Clothes your kids have outgrown? We partner with organizations that send them to orphanages in impoverished countries.

The items that no longer serve you become a catalyst for good.

We take pride in every single project and understand that our work is most successful when we have a deep connection with our clients. We get to know them on a personal level, identify what drives them crazy about the space, how they want to function within it and bring their vision to life.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’ve learned to get creative, especially living in small spaces. Every inch counts. I pride myself on finding creative solutions to my client’s biggest challenges. Every item needs a purpose, a home, and to look beautiful within the space.
