Today we’d like to introduce you to Na Phan.
Na, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am the eldest of four children. My dad is an artist. Since I was a little girl, he inspired me to want to be an artist as well. He left for Vietnam and went to Australia to sponsor and build a new home for our family. We joined him nine years later.
Being adventurous and given an opportunity to go to America I jumped at the chance. When I got to America I hung out at the nail salon and liked the experience of meeting and talking to various people from all walks of life. By the age of 19, I had been working as a nail technician and decided then and there that I wanted to own my own nail salon before the age of 30. At the age of 26, I had become a business owner. It was hard at first because I no longer had the freedoms of coming and going as I used to. Vacation wasn’t even on my list of things to do. I decided that I wanted to sell my salon and work for someone else so that I could go back to having that free time again.
When I did return to working in the field, I decided to work in a larger salon as I’ve not ever worked in one before. In doing so, it opened my eyes to the realization that although I enjoyed myself and those I worked with I was not happy with where I was in my life. I knew I wanted to get back to being an owner but this time of a larger salon.
An opportunity arose when I decided to partner up to open a larger salon. I was so excited and the things were on a roll. Then one day, disappointment hit me and broke my heart. Yet I was determined not to let this stop me from achieving my dream. I focused hard on improving my skills and found a way to include my passion for art into my work.
Now, I am the proud owner of two large and busy nail salons.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? There were many struggles and accusations thrown during a time I was in business with my partner. My husband could of pointed fingers but instead loved and supported every decision I made and stood by my side the whole time.
Please tell us about Posh nail lounge.
Not only am I the business owner, but I’m also a nail artist and Microblading specialist. I am best known for my freehand nail art.
We specialize in all areas related to nails, eyebrows and lashes. We are always trying the latest trends.
What sets us apart from other nail salons is that we are more like a lounge where you come with your friends to have fun while getting pampered.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t believe in looking back because I’m too busy looking forward. What happened in the past made me a better person today.
