Meet Mrs. and Mr. Farina of Hubs & Hers in West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mrs. and Mr. Farina.

Mrs. and Mr., let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2015, I married Mr. Farina and Hubs & Hers was born.

Hubs & Hers is the ultimate his & hers line. A brand that both traditional & unconventional couples can appreciate. For the women with thirsty hearts & the brave men who quench that thirst.

When Hubs & Hers first began, my husband and I both worked full-time jobs. I was painting every his & her mug and vintage button down by hand. I constantly struggled with time management and the ability to create more inventory while also keeping everything local. If it wasn’t created with blood, sweat, and tears, it wasn’t Hubs & Hers.

One day I came home from work, ready to roll up my sleeves, only to find that my magnificent human being of a husband had taught himself how to screen print. Now he would be able to replicate my prints and we could FINALLY (and efficiently) create our products in bulk. This was the turning point for our small business. In no time at all, Mr. Farina had transformed our one-car-garage into a full-service print shop. Some of our best fights as husband and wife took place in that workshop. Long nights, too many mistakes, even more, make-up sex.

Three years and four moves later, I love where our life has lead us. We have both quit our ‘real jobs’. Our current workshop is four times the size of our original garage. We offer a larger selection of inventory than ever before, yet almost every single products is still handmade by myself & Mr. Farina. All the way from the concept to the creation, every piece contains the necessary ingredients: blood, sweat, tears, belly laughs, mistakes, and love.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Too many bumps to count, but frankly, that’s part of the fun. We’ve learned everything we know through trial and error, so mistakes that have been made along the way have been worth it. They have made us stronger, more resilient, more successful.

We continue to struggle with an increasing amount of ‘copy cats’, stealing not only our his and her products and ideas, but also our photography, verbiage, and pricing.

One thing they cannot steal from us is our story. I get to wake up next to my husband and get straight to creating. Not many people have what husband and I have accomplished together.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Hubs & Hers – what should we know?
Hubs & Hers is known as the ‘home of his babe’. We specialize in creating the cutest shit for him and her. From matching pieces that a couple can wear together to sassy gear that you can rock solo when you want the creeps to stay clear.

There are no other companies that come close to what we offer our couples. When you shop from Hubs & Hers, you know your shirt was printed with love by a husband, you may have even seen it behind-the-scenes on an Instagram story because his wife loves to film him. You know that the duo who printed that shirt cannot wait to get it home to you and they’re probably packaging it up as we speak. When the shirt arrives home and the fit isn’t just right, you know that contacting ‘customer service’ for a size exchange means speaking directly with Mr & Mrs. Farina.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband deserves every drop of credit there is to give. He’s supported me financially, emotionally, unconditionally since the beginning of US. Before Hubs & Hers was even an idea when I was a full-time marketing student who had no clue what she wanted to do when ‘she grew up’. I can still recall every irrationally frantic phone call I’ve ever made to him. Each one with the same message, I was quitting my job, turning my car around and coming back home. He is the reason my diet consists of more than just coffee. He’s my muse. He’s seen me at my worst and he deserves me at my best.
