Meet Monalisa Andre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monalisa Andre.

Monalisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been modeling for 12 years… I’ve always loved taking photos… every holiday as a child, I would going into a photography studio to take pictures. Once Facebook came out, I was introduced to Big C who I did my first photo shoot with and right there, I fell in love with the camera. I felt free and alive. Years have gone by, I started making a name for myself by shooting with different photographers, different brands, doing shows… music videos and etc. Today, I’ve made a household name for myself, I’m still learning new stuff as I go along but never forgetting where and how I started.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. My height played a huge factor in my career. Being told no multiple times due to my height or not looking exotic enough had me many times question why was I still in this modeling industry. Also, the beginning of my career, I had a lot of people tell me this industry wasn’t right for me and that I should stop showing off my body. I cried… I got back up and doing better than ever.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I consider myself a print… swimwear… commercial… lingerie model. I’m known for the girl who is comfortable with her body. I’m proud of the fact that I never stopped and gave up my dreams of being a household name. I feel like my personality… my passion for this industry is what sets me apart. I want to prove to the world, despite my height I can still stand out.

Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
Being patient… focused and loving what you do is a few qualities that is important to me success. I knew my time would come but I just had to continue putting in the work and showing everyone including myself that I can do it.
