Today we’d like to introduce you to Mona Tranter.
Mona, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in the arts industry with a very busy art family . My mom a painter, I was a professional dancer and brother musician. Art and all to do with art has been my life. I began working with art and performance art in my teenage years and are strongly into art as I went into my 20’s attaining tow fine arts degrees. I began brokering and advising clients on art and since most of our clients were based in the us I wanted to bring a place that they could come and view art that was much closer. So my husband and partner Rayda Sinni and I opened in Miami.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are always struggles taking on new artists and finding your brand. We want to represent artists but we have to maintain our standards and that is working with established artists or the masters. It is very hard to see such great art and not be able to work with them or help them. We started a sister gallery dedicated to newly emerging artists and this allows us to keep our standards high.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the TRANTER-SINNI GALLERY story. Tell us more about the business.
Our company is an art gallery and I am known for my art advisor role and bringing some very unique works to my clients. I am very proud of some of the new artists that are coming onto the art scene in a strong way! I believe with my entertainment background dealing with artists allows us to be different as I am not just a gallerist but I am an artists and understand both sides.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck, I don’t believe in too much. I believe for me, I have had to work very hard in any area of my life. I believe that hard work will create luck and bring the positives to your life.
