Meet Michelle Gabor of Inpired_byhealth in Aventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Gabor.

Michelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my healthy lifestyle in Venezuela, where I was a swimmer. I represented my school in many swim meetings and in national competitions. Then I moved to the United States, where I wanted to continue swimming, but it was difficult with school and the cultural changes. So, I decided to make it a hobby. During my two first years here in the US, I started practicing yoga as a way to heal my mind and body. I felt connected to this discipline because of the amazing experience during my practices and how amazing my body was feeling. Now, I am living in Miami, studying Nutrition and Dietetics at FIU. Loving my career and so excited to become a Registered Dietitian in the future when I finish the process to become one. These are the reasons why I started my Instagram account @inspired_byhealth. I am so passionate about everything I do, my career, my social media and the discipline I have for my hobbies (swimming and yoga).

Has it been a smooth road?
Not as easy as I thought it was going to be. The language was a huge challenge for me. I moved to the United States without knowing  how to express myself in English. Before starting my undergraduate career, I decided to take a year off and dedicate myself to learn the language. After that year, I learned enough to be able to express, and communicate independently.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I dedicate my time to my social media account @inspired_byhealth. I share some love, motivation, and my lifestyle. I love the feedback people give me, I love being an inspiration to others, and I love sharing routines, quotes, and recipes with my followers. I am so passionate about helping others and believe that this account opens doors and opportunities for my future career in Oncology Nutrition.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the social gatherings, restaurants and fitness events the city provides. I love the weather! It’s perfect to exercise outside, in a park, and beaches. Miami is known for having a variety of different cultures and for that reason we have the option of many different types of cuisine. The restaurants include, vegan/vegetarian, fast food, gourmet, and foods from different countries.

What I like the least is the distances between places. Everything is far, and there is too much traffic, especially where I live. However, I am grateful of having the opportunity of living in this city. I just have to take in mind the distances and the faster routes to get from one place to another.
