Meet Meghan Fletcher of Hey Girl, Hey! in West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Fletcher.

Meghan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hey Girl, Hey! is a Top-Rated Online Community that was designed to teach women how to maximize their full potential in both their personal and professional lives. Using the basis of Personal Development, Mindset Mastery and a mix of Community & Personal Accountability- Hey Girl, Hey! provides women with tools, resources and strategies necessary to take any area of their lives to the next level.

It all started with a vision, no real plans in place, just a solid objective. I wrote my first book Hey Girl, Hey! Encouraging Women To Rule And Own Their Lives With No Limits as a way to share my story, in hopes that my vulnerability and transparency would allow other women to recognize that they don’t have to be a product of their environments or their current circumstances.

From the outpour of love and support that I received (from total strangers) after my book’s publication, I decided to start Hey Girl, Hey!’s Online Community platform.

While working extremely hard to excel in my fulltime career (which I am super passionate about), I launched Hey Girl, Hey! as, what I would call, my purpose project. By simply being myself. I wasn’t overly concerned with what angle I was going to take from a marketing or client acquisition stand-point and I really didn’t even know if I wanted to create a solid business model- as my only goal was to connect with like-minded women, give them a platform to utilize, and create a community that believed in the importance of “helping a sister out”.

After establishing a few great friendships and business relationships I knew that the best way to fulfill my objective was to begin using relatable content to cultivate a community. But not just any community, one that catered specifically to goal-oriented, non-judgmental, transparent young women who weren’t afraid to go the extra mile. Women who weren’t afraid to take risks, to follow their dreams and to push themselves to that “next level” in multiple areas of their lives (all while taking a few detours and helping other women along the way).

Because I understand that sometimes “falling and getting back up is even harder than doing it all right the first time around”, I make it a priority to keep transparency, inclusion and respect at the forefront of the Hey Girl, Hey! community.

Hey Girl, Hey! recognizes women from all walks of life. All races and religions, martial statuses and occupations, socioeconomic statuses and upbringings. All abilities and disabilities, and all tragedies and triumphs and our only request is that everyone else agrees to do the same.

Since launching in 2017 Hey Girl, Hey! has featured over 100 different women who were looking for an outlet to share their stories, promote their brands and grow their businesses (for free) simply because, I believe that empowered women, empower women. I encourage stay-at-home moms, C-Level Executives and regular women -who stand for something- to utilize Hey Girl, Hey’s! platform to reach thousands of like-minded women, make friends and even connect with potential clients.

I have always been very passionate about bridging the gaps. In confidence, cultures and communities (social classes). My life goal is: to help women find and connect with their true authentic selves, to teach women how to get past emotional barriers and create breakthroughs in every area of their lives and… “maybe even a Nobel Peace Prize someday… why not?”.

Most recently, I decided to create a 16-Step Personal Development Program: The 16 Keys to Excessive Elevation. The purpose of introducing this program was (and still is) to help women accept themselves for exactly who they are at this very moment. To push them- to push themselves to bigger and better things and to pinpoint the areas of opportunity (for growth) in both their personal and professional lives.

With thousands of women joining Hey Girl, Hey! every month, I needed to find a way to keep everyone engaged with one another so shortly after introducing The 16 Keys to Excessive Elevation, I started a series of challenges (outlined by the program) called The GetUp Girl Challenge Series and the viral hashtag #getupGirlchallenge. Through these challenges the Hey Girl, Hey! community encourages each other to challenge themselves, to step out of their comfort zones and to evaluate their current mindsets, habits and behaviors. The series is most well-known for the accountability and encouragement that the members of our community provide to one another.

From our individualized features to our personal development programs/ trainings, to our challenges, our Insta-worthy slogan tees and the countless amount of resources, knowledge and suggestions that we provide, the objective behind every new introduction of the Hey Girl, Hey! community remains the same… and for me, that’s to see everyone in my circle shine!

Has it been a smooth road?
The short answer is not at all. For me, the biggest obstacle of Hey Girl, Hey! was accepting the fact that I couldn’t do everything, all of the time. I’m a recovering perfectionist, the poster child for a Type-A personality test result, and I don’t believe in doing anything “half-way”. In the beginning, it was very hard for me to not know how (or when) I would take Hey Girl, Hey! to “the next level”. I had to get comfortable accepting the fact that… this is my purpose; it’s my passion and I don’t necessarily have to do anything other than what I came to do. I really had to take a step back and learn to practice what I preach.

Openly, I love my career and it’s my priority at this point in my life but at the beginning of Hey Girl, Hey! when people would ask me “What are you doing next?” or “What are you up to with Hey Girl, Hey!?” I felt like I had to have some solidified master plan. With my business background, I felt like I had to create a business model and dive into generating multiple streams of income. I felt like I needed to know what was next and “prove myself” because that’s what people typically expect of me.

After a year of learning web development programs, completely rebranding Hey Girl, Hey!, learning how to use graphic design software, taking online courses and creating sales (and marketing funnels) all while writing blogs, creating content, designing graphics, reaching out to potential features, batch working, creating drip-campaigns, getting my business license, learning about eCommerce, securing inventory and everything else that comes with launching and growing a new business completely by myself… ON TOP of putting 110% into my career and positioning myself to excel there… I was completely burnt out, both physically and mentally.

So for me, it definitely wasn’t a smooth road. The biggest challenge was being able to accept that not every project needs to become an obsession and truly understanding that the people who matter will just undeniably “get it”. Just because you love basketball doesn’t mean you have to be a basketball player. I believe that Hey Girl, Hey! and helping other women is my purpose and right now, I’m okay with it being just that.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The Personal Development and Self-Help Industry has really taken off over the last ten years and I think that it will grow even more rapidly in the next ten. From a business perspective I think there will continue to be an endless amount of opportunity in this industry and my hope is that women continue to support each other in these fields. As for Hey Girl, Hey! I just want to continue to grow our community and continue to help women become the best versions of who they already are so make sure you tell everyone you know to come join us!
