Meet Megan Clancy Mejia of Lighthouse Bridal and Letterpress Design in Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Clancy Mejia.

Megan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We’re a husband and wife duo that love the craft and the art of beautiful things. The craft of hanging a gown that was made in the garment district of New York City and the art of ink being sandwiched together between a letterpress plate and pillowy paper that will invite your family and friends to the most memorable day of your life.

Lighthouse was inspired by the creative and the outside of the box kind of couple. We are simply put; a no frills, easy going bridal boutique that carries a carefully curated selection of designer gowns and accessories. We believe you should do you and you only on your wedding day.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Are roads ever perfectly smooth? I don’t think so. We faced obstacles in the beginning phases with finding the perfect location and space. The build out was a true labor of love as we did everything ourselves!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We’re a no frills bridal and letterpress boutique that specializes in being different. We take great pride in being a one of a kind type of boutique in the community that we love so much. We’re known for personalized customer service and that is what we are most proud of. The most fulfilling part of owning a small business is getting to know each and every bride, and couple. Everyone’s love story is different and perfect in their own way.

What were you like growing up?
I was the girl that got ‘most school spirited’ but was never on the cheerleading squad. I have always been a hard worker and have dreamt of owning my own small business. I gained a wealth of business knowledge throughout college by working several different internships from non-profit companies, to city hall, to major sports and concert venues. I’m a do it yourself kind of gal and I love a good project.
