Today we’d like to introduce you to Marjorie or MJ Fritz.
Marjorie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved photography, maybe because I have been exposed to it since I’m 14 years old.
Back in the early 90’s, I was scouted to become a fashion model, I worked in the fashion industry for 20 years in front of the camera until it was time to retire.
Retirement was not very fulfilling, I missed being in photoshoots, so I got a degree in Photography in order to call myself a professional photographer.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started to shoot weddings, I had to learn to keep my nerves calm.
Weddings are challenging and very stressful, it is not for everyone.
Please tell us about MJ Magnum Photography.
I am a female photographer with 20 years of fashion background, I specialize in fashionable wedding photography.
One of the things that set me apart is the experience of working in front of the camera for decades.
Most people are very nervous when being photographed because they have no clue what to do, and that for me is a no brainer, I know exactly how it feels to have a huge lens pointing at you, and I know exactly what to do in order to help my client feel great and work with the camera to get the best images.
One picture is worth 1000 words and you can defiantly see when people are awkwardly posed and uncomfortable.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Sadly, I do not have good memories from my childhood, my father was an alcoholic and we were poor.
