Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Stefania Lorefice.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Maria Stefania. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a hair dresser, makeup artist & eyebrow threading specialist. As of January 2017, I relocated my talents to South Florida, originally from NJ/NYC.
I started Cosmetology courses at the age of 16 during my high school years, now being 25 years young, I am one of Matrix’s Color Correction Ambassadors.
I moved to South of Florida to live a healthier life style, being that I came from a very over populated and polluted area, I wanted to be able to enjoy the crawling lizards, hot sunny breeze, and palm trees instead of pine trees.
I also move to expand my growing business to a different location while continuing to work in Lyndhurst NJ at Salon A. I commute home 1 week of every month to touch up eyebrows, makeup or updo services for parties such as weddings, proms and events, and to keep up with 4-6 week color touch ups for my precious clients.
The traveling back and forth may seem exhausting for many, but for myself, it’s actually very soothing. . .
Flying on planes is one of the ways I get to enjoy Gods creation from above, while landing in states I continue to grow mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
98% of my clients have remained completely loyal to my returns, not stepping out of their comfort zone to try someone knew. That is one of the most appreciated feelings a stylist can emotionally sense.
And that is why I keep coming back home!
I continue to pursue S. Florida because it is my dream state. It’s the little bit of paradise I get to enjoy during my 20’s. During my stay of enjoyment, I am also networking to my capacity! I’ve been featured on the iHeartRadio studio, Live on the Brooklyn Cafe show quite a few times. I’ve also educated a few salons in West, South & North Florida for Matrix hair color, and I’ve had the experience of working in a Boca Salon, Donna Pascoe.
What is my main goal? To become a big time Fashion Show Coordinator. My first fashion show, which is now available on YouTube, search ‘MOBFS’; where I featured models, designers, artists, production teams, the venue, caterers, and many more to a day of talents on February 14, 2016…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing is 100% smooth in this imperfect world, but we are all able to make it as smooth as we want it to be.
I’m a very positive person, therefore anything that hasn’t gone my way, I’ve overcame negative feelings and remained patient.
Gaining a new load of clientele is one of the most difficult things to accomplish being in the hair or makeup industry. Gratefully I have been blessed with some steady flow of income for the time being in Florida, and still have a load some the moment I land in New Jersey.

@MakeOverBeauti Instagram is clearly known for its name. An entire MakeOver. Period.
When being serviced by myself, you are not just getting the basic color formula applied to your locks. You are also not just getting your eyebrows done. And, you are not getting your makeup done just because.
The name MakeOverBeauti came about in 2010, as the eyebrow perfectionist that I am, the hair and makeup guru, came to be all in ONE.
When you receive any of these services, you are left with a perfected look.
It’s hard to believe unless you’ve tried MakeOverBeauti at least once. (*wink*) 😉
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Hmm, I’m not really sure. I started so young, I’m so ahead of the game and I love where life has taken me.
If I did have to choose one thing! I would have taken the real estate exam for my realtor license after my courses. (fun fact; I have test anxiety).
