Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Laura Ribeiro.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started very early in my life. As my mom is an artist and used to be an art teacher, I grew up surrounded by the arts assisting and learning different techniques in her studio classes. Besides my mother, my husband who is also a professional artist played a big part in my artistic endeavors. Many people have given me support along the journey. The collectors, galleries and people who like my work, also deserve credit for being by my side pursuing a creative life.
I have always loved fashion and pop culture, and later in life, I could put all my passions and artistic techniques together to give life to my own vision which became my art carrier.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As any other career, the obstacles were always there to be overcome, but I never tended to focus on them as many other inspiring events were also always around to give me the strength to go forward.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Maria Laura Art story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a mixed media artist, specialized in creating portraits of iconic pop figures of the past and present, bringing them to life with my own vision of fashion and art skills. I’m proud of my art been exhibited in international art fairs alongside the work of the masters.
